Re: Getting to Know You

Hi Sue, I have not checked out the word games yet, but I will , I do like word games!
Hi Barregar! Yes, I've been playing BS at the other place.
My garden has kept me pretty busy this week so I haven't played much of anything; tomorrow should be a free day!
And yes, I would love to play Green Moon, thank you for the invite! Sep 7th?
Hi Min, I would appreciate all the good thoughts headed his way that I can get. I felt the same way when he was deployed to Iraq.
I'm not sure what the board rules are here, but tomorrow (as I said) the garden requires very little from me, plus...the family will be gone! Quiet, game play time and board reading rules!

Hi all,
I'm the newest newbie. I'm Beth, at BFG mcquigan. You would have found me in the adventurous fish thred, and LFG group plays.
I am 57, married. Have a 34 year old son, and an 11 1/2 year old daughter (they are so far apart in years I say i have two only children).
The first game I ever played was Leisure suit Larry .
I read, garden, moan about aches and pains, and enjoy putting food by.
Anki, my nephew just deployed to Afghanistan, I will hold my breath for the next nine months.
Hi Min and Sue!

Welcome to the new members!

OMG, I remember Leisure Suit Larry!  That game was so weird and hilarious!

BTW, I don't mind if people chat in here, I'm just glad people are posting in it.  I was worried maybe it was inappropriate.

Re: Getting to Know You

Hi Alianthia, and Welcome!!  I can't believe it, someone from BC too? I'm in BC so it's such a coincidence....I presume you are in Vancouver?  Which uni did you work in....UBC or SFU?  I see you like to play word games...we have a section for that, so hop in there anytime.  Since you like adventure games, would you like to join in the group play for Apothecarium starting tomorrow?  We have another one for Green Moon starting September 7.  If you are joining, just sign in to the respective thread.
See you around!!

Re: Getting to Know You

Alianthia, Victoria is a lovely place, my hubby wanted to retire there because he loves Victoria, we went over often and we stayed at one of the hotels overlooking the harbour, loved walking around the harbour. Unfortunately, my DH passed away before we could move over there, so I'm on the mainland by myself.  Who knows, maybe we'll meet one day.  I love going over to the island on the ferry, I tried both the new ferries and they are so nice.

Oh I am sorry to hear this...
Yes the harbour is lovely.
Yes you never know!
Yes we hardly ever go to the mainland as those ferries(although nice,) are SO expensive, as you know! They also keep putting the fares up...lol
Usually, when we travel, we fly to either Vacouver and on from there or else Seattle...

Re: Getting to Know You

I used to be a regular on the thread at BFG, then my life fell apart, and I was away for a bit, then was posting sparatically when I thought thing were coming together.  Had another downward slide, but I think that might be turning again.  Really glad that you guys didn't give up on me and did invite me over.  Thank you so much, please know that I really do appreciate that you were thinking about me.
I'm a little overwhelmed at the new digs. Thought I would just start at the top.

Hi all I'm Dex.  (yes the "if you don't like a game just dex it" Dex.

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada.  Proud Canadian all the way - and have the tattoo to prove it.  Yes, I'm a little bit of a freak, and a lot of a geek with a bit of multi personallity thrown in.  I work in a conservative accounting office, live in a hip urban neighborhood, grew up on a farm, and love to travel.  I have more interests and hobbies than I have time for - really need to win the lottery so that I can find time to persue all my interests.  I'm a huge tea freak, love to read, play Rock Band with my friends, and adore my cat - even when he is driving me crazy.  I appreciate art, I'm not pretending to understand it all, but I know what I like.

That's the Coles version of me, but there are many more layers - can't say everthing all at once or I may scare you off.  Hope to be spending more time here.  Really missed you guys.
