Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Stusue...Yes, I read your review on Queen's Quest: Tower of Darkness back in August.  It's just these game titles start sounding alike after awhile that I forget which one is which.  Strange how Gamehouse has it as a PE and Big Fish has it as a SE.  Not that I am complaining mind you.  I am just happy I can use my pcc for it.

BTW...I was wondering where have Meg, Anki & MissCat been lately.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished the bonus chapter of Dark Canvas: Blood and Stone Collector's Edition.

This game was nothing special, but it wasn't one of those games that you can't wait until it's over.  A good game for me to play as I try to get back into finishing my purchased games.

This appears to be the last game released by Vast.  Their web site hasn't been updated in 2014 and their Facebook page isn't very current either.

I'm going to play Final Cut: Homage Collector's Edition next.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Grim Tales The Legacy.  I thought it would never end.  I saved the sister and the baby, thought it would be over, but then I got transported to ancient Siberia and had to do some more.  That part of it really felt like a bonus game.
I almost played Final Cut Encore but I ended up with Otherworld Summer.  Everything seems familiar, so maybe I already finished it?  Maybe I'll do Encore instead, then I'll have Homage to download when I get home.  I spent days agonizing whether I should get Homage as SE or use my CE coupon on it, I finally noticed that I already owned the SE, lol.
I've been thinking about our missing list, especially Puzzledone.  When I read old reviews at BFG I always get a few sentences in and think "I know this review is by Puzzledone." , I scroll back up, and sure enough, every single time, it is.  I don't know what it is, but the way she writes is unique and I can always recognize it.

Anybody else having trouble signing into BFG?

When I try to sign in, I get the little blue processing circle going round and I get a page from the website but I'm still not signed in.  If I had a typo or wrong info, I should get an error message.

Thatnks.  I was able to sign in.  Was locked out for at least an hour.  Somebody posted on Facebook with the same problem.  Wonder what the problem was?

I've finished the first 3 chapters of Final Cut: Homage Collector's Edition.  I'm enjoying the game so far.  It has morphs in some of the HO's and collectibles.  When I get invovled in the story, I tend to forget to look for those things but this game (on the casual setting - don't know about the other difficulty levels) has a little icon on the bottom right hand side that lets you know whether you need to find a morph or collectible.

The HO's are a mixture of interactive and progressive silhouette.  Once again, there's a lot of move one and some others move type puzzles, but they've been fairly easy and haven't had to skip or use the strategy guide to solve.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Finished Final Cut Encore, the second in the series.  I didn't like it nearly as much as the first one.  There were a lot of HOs and I usually was stuck for the last one or two items so I'd switch to M3 mode to finish.   I'm doing well, I'm getting a lot of them played.  Lots of time off work and too cold to go outside much.  We're supposed to have lows in the mid 30s the rest of the weekend, brrrr.  But then it's off to Florida and unlimited internet, whoo hoo!
Don't know what I'll play next, we open really early here but we close fairly early and as cold as it's going to get, that will probably be around 6 or 7.  I have to go blow up balloons now, we open in a few hours for a ride special, 4-9 tonight, then open at 8 or 9am the rest of the week.

wendy - I didn't like Final Cut Encore as much as the first one, either.  Right now, I'd rate the third one as somewhere between the two games, but closer to the first than the second.  I think I just like games that take place in very large mansions.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I don't particularly like the mansions, some of them are nice, the ones I can remember where I'm at.  The Dorian Grey mansion was humongous but the map was good and I always remembered how to get to where I wanted.  I remember I really liked the Final Cut mansion.  I knew my way around, I'm thinking there was a jump map but I walked most of the time.  I know I liked the HOs in the first one better.  Does Homage go back to the mansion?  Encore started off there but it was being remodeled/renovated/.
I started 3 Cards to Deadtime.  I like how it's more graphic novel(?) than game, but it does get a little talky.  I'd like to spend more time playing the game than watching cutscenes.  The spiritual guide's voice sounds like Alec Baldwin to me, think that's who I'm thinking of.  The guy's a good actor, that's for sure.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

wendy - I just finished the main game of Homage.  I'll play the bonus chapter tomorrow. You play in several locations.  It uses that camera gimmick, which reminds me of Secrets of the Dark series, but it didn't bother melike it did in Encore.  I really liked the mix of the differnt Ho's.  Very similar to the Ho's in Hidden Exposition: Smithsonian.  And of course the game has whacky credits.
