Yeah, the next one is Sunhook Spire. I didn't love that one.
Have you unpetrified Greg yet? That's when you really notice the lack of pants. He's completely unfazed about meeting the princess without his trousers on. Not embarassed at all. And very polite, always says please when he wants Sophia to do something.
You have to wonder about Sophia, though. She's concerned about leaving him just wearing a tee-shirt, so she cleans the chain mail, but doesn't think to look for trousers? But the next time she sees him, she's glad he found some pants to wear. I always wondered at the end of the game, why Sophia continued her journey after finally finding some humans. At the very least, she should have taken Greg with her. There's plenty of Goblins and fairies around, but very few men. He's brave and polite, she can always spruce up his wardrobe later on.
Captain Greg reveals that a welcoming party was on its way to meet Sophia, because they expected her once she came of age. So, from this we can assume that Sophia is at least 18. What I can't figure out is, if Sophia was asleep for 100 years, how did anybody know when she'd wake up or be of age? If nobody was turned to rock until the welcoming party set out, why are all these people so loyal to Sophia? Surely during the 100 years she was asleep, somebody else would have taken charge. This is really a very dumb story when you stop to think about it.
And I just solved a puzle and the screen showed a drawing of a grown up Sophia being taught to use a bow and arrow by her father. Yet at the beginning of the game, it appears her parents deposited her in the Dreamless Castle when she was little more than a toddler. She couldn't have dreamed those bow and arrow lessons, she was in the Dreamless Castle.
I think I need to just forget about this stupid story and make up my own backstory for what happened before I arrived. At least I care about continuity.

Day 38
The sun has just risen and already I'm on my way to Mystic Copse to find those four jars of Glittering Fairy Dust I need for Raphael. I just hope it's all I have to find. Goblins have a nasty habit of asking for more things just when you think you've given them everything they need.
I've already found three jars of dust when Greg arrives. What are you doing here, we ask each other. He reminds me about his daily rounds and asks if I want to accompany him to Coral Cove. Uh, no. I explain about the fairy dust and how I hope it will be the last thing Raphael needs to complete the painting for the Castle interior. He nods and leaves. So much for the tradition I'm familiar with regarding the groom not seeing the bride on the wedding day before she walks up the aisle.
I finally find the fourth jar of dust. I've also found the crystal slippers Leena wanted to go with the fairy dresses she's giving Mira and the Fairy Queen.
Up at Skycrystal Atriums, I drop off the items Raphael requested. It's not enough. He wants blue and yellow moonflowers, lots of them as well as a few Tender Touches. I hope I have everything back at the office. I also see Leena, and deliver all the fairy slippers. She wants thread. I shall return, I promise.
Lucky and I run back to Town Hall and check the storage cabinet. We have the thread, and all the flowers. Back up to Skycrystal Atriums. Leena takes the thread and asks me to go with her to Skyfleet Docks. Now? The day of the Festival? Isn't there some water you should be blessing? I tell her not now.
On to Raphael. He takes the flowers and asks for materials for the frame. Golden oak. No problem. It's his. And poster glue. I tell him to keep painting, I'll return shortly with the poster glue. Another dash back to Town Hall. The only poster glue I have is for the last Yura Festival task. I am paying dearly for putting up that last poster for the mayor, which could have waited.
I grab eight jars of poster glue, run back to Raphael and practically throw them at him. I figure I still have a little time to search Forgotten Glen for yet more glue, and if all else fails, I'll buy some from Blessilda. Raphael wants me to wait. The painting is almost finished and then I can go with him to the Castle to see it hung. I decide to have a bowl of beef stew while I wait.
Painting and frame are complete. On the way up to the Castle, I meet the Mayor, who wants to know where his poster glue and paintbrushes are. I also meet Fahleed, who wants to know when I'll be picking up my dress. Uh, maybe instead of picking it up, I'll change at your shop, I tell Fahleed. That way, you can make any necessary last minute alterations. He agrees.
The painting looks lovely. I hope Greg agrees, seeing how I wanted it ready for the Festival to please him. Maybe he'll be so pleased with the painting he won't notice his bride looks like something the cat dragged in.
Back to Forgotten Glen to find 8 jars of poster glue. It takes a while, and my mind wanders to the rumors that have resurfaced about Greg's motives for marrying me. When you think about it logically, it would be very difficult for him if I married one of the men he commands. And other than a soldier, who could I marry? Not a shepherd, or a butcher, or a blacksmith. It may be practical for us to marry, and beneficial to his career, but that doesn't mean he doesn't love me, I tell Lucky.
The rumors regarding who the kingdom's inhabitants think I am are even more troubling. But I don't have time to think about that. I've found all the poster glue. Back to Town Hall, where I give the Mayor the poster glue and paintbrushes he needs.
I remember to check my desk for the information Greg (that still sounds so strange to me) promised to leave. The ceremony is very uncomplicated. He will transfer my ring from my right hand to my left, the Mayor will bind our hands together with a length of cloth and try a special knot and all I have to remember is to say 'Yes' at the appropriate moment. I can do that.
Also on the desk is a package and a note. Inside the package is a length of blue material. The note informs me that this is the cloth Greg's parents used for their wedding ceremony and would I agree to using it for ours? I knew he loved me, Lucky. From the storage cupboard I grab a pair of Skycrystal earrings. Greg has just supplied the something old, my dress is the something new, the earrings are borrowed, and my ring is blue. At least I'm following one tradition from my world.
As I leave Town Hall to pick up the rest of the things I need to bring to Fahleed's, I see that the flags and banners have already been strung all over Landsong Village. There's even some by my new house. Oh joy.
Fahleed is waiting for me, and to my surprise, so is Linea. I'm shaking as I try my dress on. It's everything I dreamed it would be.
The design is very simple. The bodice has a scoop neck, not too high, but not too low. And sheer puffed sleeves. The skirt is very full and worn over several petticoats. It is the fabric that is amazing. It has the look of mother of pear and teh slightest movement makes the pearly, pastel hues shimmer.
A pair of crystal slippers, a very light sprink of simmering fairy dust on my hair and I'm ready. Linea hands me a letter from Queen Sophia, wishing me joy and happiness. Queen Sophia has also sent me a gift, a circlet of Skycrystals. It's very kind of her, but I worry that people will think it just a wee bit pretentious for me to wear what looks like a tiara, a very modest one, but a tiara nevertheless. However, to refuse her gift would be ungracious. I decide to wear it.
I'm as ready as I'll ever be. It's time to head up to the Castle. On the way, I meet Ria, who hands me a bouquet of Snow Kisses. My Captain is waiting for me by one of the statutes of Yura. He swallows hard when he see me. And then the Mayor starts to speak and everything becomes a blur and we have tied the knot, both literally and figuratively.
I wonder how soon before we can leave the festival. It's been a very long, tiring day, the fairy dust is making me dizzy, and I don't have any desire to try my hand at Fairy Art or to play Fungi Tiles. I've been living this festival for 14 days, I want to get away from it.
I ask my husband if there's anything we need to say or do in our respective capacities as Steward and Captain of the Queen's Guard. Nothing the Mayor can't handle is his reply. Then take me home, I plead.
The first thing I do when we get home is take off the tiara. Can't imagine where I'm going to wear that thing again. Lucky shakes off his festival hat. Greg puts his arms around me and pulls me close and I start to tremble. Cold, he asks. No, I reply, scared. He holds me close and gently strokes my hair.

Wow! I could see B in all her finery! And actual tears came to my eyes when you were describing her dressed and walking to the Festival. I'm glad you included Ria. And I grinned when Lucky shook off his festival hat! Great job Tirama!

I wasn't the least surprised when Lucky shook off his Festival Hat first thing after getting home. HaHa Nice touch.

Day 39
My first morning as a married woman. Naturally, I'm going to spend it at work.
In Beechwood Cove, I inform my husband, newly married couples take time off from work to go away for several days so that they can be alone together. Greg is only half listening and asks what they do while they are away. I sigh, look at him, then at the bed, then back at him.
He laughs and tells me that there's no reason why we can't combine pleasure with business. Today is the day I will accompany him on his daily rounds. First stop, the Black Bull. After that...Coral Cove. We'll have to spend a lot of time at Coral Cove, I inform him. I need a lot of fairy glass.
Lucky is not pleased about all the kissing and cuddling that's been going on this morning. Get used to it, I tell him. This is the way it's going to be from now on. Cheer up. You don't have to wear your festival duds for quite a while.
The Peddlar joins us for the visit to the Black Bull, something to do with a secret treasure chest. Whatever. Greg glares and mutters something about not wanting any company at Coral Cove. I assure him there it will only be the two..er, three of us.
At the Black Bull, I find the model trains I need for Gavin. I also find a relic fragment. Meanwhile, Greg talks to the ship's crew and looks for any signs that the mysterious stranger or any other outsider may have been around.
On to Coral Cove. Again, Greg searches intently for any signs of our mysterious visitor. Finally he is satisfied that nothing is amiss. What shall we do first, I ask. Search for fairy glass or...Or, he murmurs, definitely or.
Eventually we search for fairy glass. Together we find 16 pieces as well as other useful items. I want to continue searching, but Greg has just remembered that the Mayor wanted to see me. He wants to ask me for a favor. I'm puzzled. When did you speak to the Mayor, I ask. Yesterday, he replies sheepishly.
I don't know why the Mayor can't just fill out a work order, I grumble. I already know he's either going to want me to assemble posters, or find poster glue, or donate money to somebody.
As I suspected, the Mayor has yet another poster he wants me to assemble. Told you so. Guess I'll be spending the rest of the day at Forgotten Glen looking for poster glue.
Correction. I'll spend several days looking for poster glue. I need (gasp) 52 jars for all the work the Mayor wants done, and another dozen for Chumblepot. And I need to pick up the clothes I left at Fahleed's yesterday, and move the rest of my things to the new house. Greg tells me to go to Forgotten Glen, he'll take care of the other things. We agree to meet back at Town Hall at the end of the day.
I manage to find a dozen jars of poster glue before it's time to head back to the office. I decide to assemble two posters for the Mayor to show that I am making progress on the work he wants done.
Next I count the work orders. There's 33 of them! Maybe I can get rid of some of the ones requesting permission to upgrade buildings. A voice behind me says No, Berengaria. I ask my husband why not. He explains that there are still visitors enjoying the festival. No construction until they have left.
Time to go home. I don't feel like eating dinner, I tell him. I'm too upset about those work orders. He replies that we'll just have to think of something else to do until my appetite returns. I grin. What do you have in mind, I ask.

Reading this is almost more fun than playing the game! You've captured things beautifully and fleshed out things that are just hinted at.
