What Wendy said! Another great episode!
And, like a man, he completely misses the subtext, which is: I can't stay here and watch you be with somebody else, so I'm going.

Day 36
Less than 3 days to go and this roller coaster ride will be over. I still need to pack my things and move them to the new house, but I'm reluctant to discuss the matter with Captain Greg. All we seem to do is fight lately. I want to get off this break up, make up merry-go-round. My mantra for the day will be: Whatever you decide is fine. Lucky tilts his head and squeaks. Yeah, I don't believe I can do it, either, but I've got to try.
The captain is waiting for me at the office in the expectation that I will accompany him on his daily rounds. I had planned on going to Forgotten Glen to get that poster glue I so desperately need for the final Yura Festival quest, followed by a trip to Apricus Plaza to deal with the tiger and the time capsule, and if I had enough time, another trip to Gobholme in the hopes of finding the portraits that Raphael wants. I'm hoping that if I give Raphael the remaining portraits, he will repair the damaged painting in the Castle.
Lucky smirks at me. Taking a deep breath, I explain the plans I had already made and point out that while I'm anxious to see what his job entails, if we wait until after the Yura Festival, we'll be able to take our time and not be rushed, adding that the decision is his to make. Captain Greg looks at me suspiciously. Go find the poster glue, he tells me and departs. So there, Lucky.
It doesn't take too long to find poster glue, and before long I'm at Apricus Plaza, feeding catnip to a tiger and opening a time capsule. I have to admit, the work I do is varied and interesting. I had hoped to find a Statue of Power to put aside for the peddler, but it was not to be.
There's time to go to Gobholme. I find one more portrait and a Goblin Engineer Crest, which I need for Chumblepot. Let's go back to the office and pick up the rest of the things Chumblepot requested, Lucky. We can check and see if any new work orders came in and then go to the Glassworks.
Nothing new is wating for me. I look at my chart showing which buildings are awaiting upgrades, check the ledgers and receive a pleasant surprise. The cash on hand and the amount I could get for exchanging various things will just about cover all the upgrades. It would be rash to spend all our bolgins, not to mention noisy if seven buildings were under construction at once.
I decide that Troglid's carpentry should be the next place to be improved. We'll tell him the good news as soon as we give these Goblin Engineer Crests, Goblin Rune of Mechanicals, and Enchantress' Lamps to Chumblepot. They don't look very inspiring to me, but then, I'm not a Goblin.
Chumblepot thanks me and mentions that he heard there's a relic fragment in Rosetum Gardens. Hmm, I might have time to search there today. But first, I must see Troglid.
I tell Troglid I've approved his request to expand his carpentry shop. He thanks me and asks for 25 Golden Oak and 2,500 bolgins, pointing out just how busy he's been and how many orders he still has waiting. Granted. I'm sure a lot of his time and supplies have gone into the construction of my new home.
There just about enough time to visit Rosetum Gardens and maybe find that relic. Although I don't find the relic, I do find a leafy green fairy dress and a jar of radiant dust, items that are hard to come by, some the trip wasn't wasted.
Captain Greg is waiting for me at Town Hall. He wants to know what I wanted to talk about the other day when I asked him to meet me at the Squabbit Den. Deep breath. I tell him I was wondering if there was a tradition about when we moved our belongings into the new house. He looks sad, so I hasten to add that I will be happy to abide by the kingdom's tradition. He looks sadder.
What's wrong, I ask. I thought you would be pleased I'm not wanting to do things the Beechwood Cove way. The captain explains that normally the couple's female relatives would be the ones to set things up inside the house.
But I don't have any relatives here, or anyplace else, just distant cousins who live a great distance away, I say, and since you haven't introduced me to your family, I assume...
All killed in the wars with Dreadmyre, he says. I take his hand and ask whether he wants to handle things, whether he wants me to deal with it, or whether we should tackle the project together. He grins mischievously and tells me whatever I decide will be fine.

So they are both bending (a bit). I bet Ria and Blessilda would help. Although I'm not quite sure of what Blessilda's idea of the perfect house would be. That's sad that Captain Greg's entire family was killed in the wars. So they both know what it is to be alone.

It's crunch time. If they don't cooperate with each other, they will wind up spending their wedding night apart.
In AK, there seems to be a generation missing. Captain Greg is closer in age to Quinn than any of the other characters. (Excepting the prince, but he's from a neighboring kingdom). Old Man Seth's generation is a bit too old to be of the same generation as Greg's father. Looking at the characters walking around, they appear to be early-mid 20's. Most of the Goblins are gray-haired.

That whole generation could have died in the wars. I don't remember if the AK series mentions how long the wars have been going on.

Day 37
Tomorrow is the big day and theres so much left to do. Last night I packed most of my things and Captain Greg will move them to our new home today. He's also going to pick up various items from Chumblepot, Triffledore and Fahleed (but not my dress), and we'll both work on getting things set up and putting everything away after we do our regular work.
So it's an early start for Lucky and me. We head off to Rosetum Gardens to find that relic fragment Chumblepot told me about. Relic fragment is quickly found along with some radiant dust. We head back to the Faire of Lights and determine that the fragment is part of the Faire's Vibrancy relc. Only one more fragment is needed to complete that relic.
Linea want me to talk to Mira about something. When I find MIra, she's not feeling well and needs assorted fairy dust and fairy runes to recover. Thanks to my morning trip to Rosetum Gardens, I have everything she needs.
Mira prepares her potion and in no time is feeling well. She tells me about some enchanted clippers at Dawnshadow Lake that will be needed to trim some vegetation at the Rose Garden, or Rosetm Gardens, well...some garden. Hello! Tomorrow is the Yura Festival, I'm getting married, and I'm sure there will be some other pressing matters for me to deal with. I'm not going to be spending my time searching for hedge clippers so I can get in some gardening.
I still have hopes that Raphael will repair the Castle's painting, so I head out to Gobholme to find the final portrait he's requested for inspiration. Portrait is found, and delivered along with 9 others. I wait for him to offer to repair the Castle's painting. Instead, he tells me to search Ancient Pond for a relic fragment. Sigh.
Before I go to Ancient Pond, I poke my head in to see how Captain Greg is doing getting things settled at the house. I'm just in time to stop him from hanging the sheets on the windows and using the curtains as a tablecloth and...We need more shelves, I tell him. Build shelves. You're very good at building shelves. I'll deal with this other stuff when I get back. Bye.
Raphael and Triffledore are good friends, Lucky. Maybe we can get Triffledore to talk to Raphael about that painting. Let's tell Triffledore he can expand his shop and see what happens.
Before I can do that, Quinn arrives and starts badgering me about a relic fragment he thnks can be found in the Treasure Vault. It will be quicker to just do what he wants, so we head off to the Treasure Vault and we find a relic fragment. This fragment is part of the Atrium Verdant relic.
Okay, now to see Triffledore. Nope, Gavin wants to talk to me. He also thinks he knows where a relic fragment can be found. Maybe. If I give him some traveler's gear. After the Yura Festistal, Gavin. Please.
I manage to get to Triffledore's without anybody else stopping me and asking for something. Just as I hoped, informing Triffledore he could expand his shop results in Raphael offering to repair the painting. He hands me a list of what he needs. I have everything!
Correction, I had everything. I forgot that I gave the Glittering Fairy Dust to Quinn. So tomorrow morning, I will have to search Mystic Copse and pray that I find 4 containers of dust.
Back at our house, there's no sign of Captain Greg. Good. Okay, Lucky, let's hang these curtains, make the bed, and put the dishes on the shelves before he gets back. If he's coming back. Maybe he's done for the day. He hasn't moved much of his own things here. Hope he hasn't changed his mind.
On cue, the Captain enters. He assures me he hasn't changed his mind, he's just having trouble deciding which things to leave at the Barracks and what to bring here. Not sure why he's not bringing everything here, too tired to ask, but it does mean more closet space for me.
Looks like we've finished here. I ask what time I need to be at the Castle for the ceremony. The ceremony? I don't know anything about it, what will I have to do and say? And paperwork, do I need to fill out any papers? And...
Captain Greg tells me to stop panicking. He's handled all the necessary paperwork, as for the ceremony, if I just sit down, he'll explain it all. No, I tell him, write it all down and leave it on my desk in the office. I'll never remember it overnight. He nods.
Time to say good night. Our last night apart. One more thing, he tells me. Isn't it about time I stopped calling him Captain Greg and just called him Greg?

Oh, I wonder if the festival will go as planned. Will something come up? Will the ceremony actually happen? And he'll always be Captain Greg to me.

Will I remember to pick up my dress? Of course, he's Captain Greg to you, you're not marrying him!

Okay, I'm replaying the Awakening series to refresh my memory as to what has happened before I arrived in the Skyward Kingdom.
I've played the Dreamless Castle, and the only info is that Sophia has been asleep for 100 years and the Goblins have been waiting for her to wake up. I told you those Goblins looked old. Sophia looked about 4 years old when they put her to sleep, but after 100 years of sleep, looks to be in her late teens. Convenietly, her clothes also grew at the same rate she did, or this would be an x-rated fairy tale.
I've skipped over Moonfell Wood and Goblin Kingdom (I'll play them later) and have started Skyward Castle. Story still claims Sophia's been asleep for 100 years. I could swear that when Sophia arrives there and first sees Ria, Dreadmyre is in the process of turning Ria to stone. However, Ria recognizes Sophia. How? Even if Ria had been turned to stone for 100 years, she wouldn't have been born at the time Sophia went to sleep. Same with Quinn.
So, Sophia is the only human I've met so far without magic, but having magic doesn't seem to have helped Ria, Quinn, and Old Man Seth. Dreadmyre, who was the Royal Court Wizard, has sucked the magic out of them. Unclear whether Mr Vanderkins has or had magic, but since he wasn't turned to stone, he must be 100+ years old.
The Faire of Light used to be called the Faire of Stars. Wonder why the name change.
I'll add more as I work my way through the game. I'll using the strategy guide to speed play, since I'm mostly interested in the narrative, which frankly doesn't make much sense. However, it looks like I'm about to marry a very old man.
I've met up with Captain Gregory, apparently Captain Greg is a nickname. He was turned to stone when he locked himself in the castle barracks with the basilisk (a giant lizard-like animal that has been turning the people to stone, presumably so Dreadmyre can suck the magic out of them.) He's ordered the rest of the soldiers to evacuate the rest of the people and is under the impression that they are safe.
All this is in a note he wrote to Sophia and pinned on the door before he was turned to stone. Nice of the basilisk to allow him to do that. What isn't explained is why, after locking himself in with the lizard, he leaves on his chain mail but removes his pants. He has awful taste in underwear.
