Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Question?  As I have been reading reviews and such this comes to mind.  How many of you base a demo or buy decision based on the developer?  Does this sway you?

For me this isn't something that I actually take note of at the beginning of the game nor does it influence me.  At the end I might think, oh another winner from so and so, or I always seem to like their games but I don't dismiss games out of hand just because of who did them.  And to be frank after I have played most games unless I have made a note, I kinda forget about them.  And the only ones I usually make a note of are the ones going into my top 10 or I think will have some replayability for me.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Yikes!  Am I behind!  There's a CE sale this weekend?  There are a couple I'd like but I'll probably just hold off.

Anki -- I'm so glad you got the tick tested and got antibiotics.  I'm also glad you'll have finished them by the time vacation rolls around!

stusue -- That cake sounds fabulous!  The sister you say is in agony -- iws that the one who visited you?  Even though the 3 of you weren't feeling all that great I'm glad you had some time together.  My prayers continue.

oscar -- I made it a point to buy Boomzap games to support a company that doesn't do the insane/evil/doctor/asylum inmate games.  Besides, I enjoy their games!  I like some of the darker games but I have my limits.  But like you two days after I finish a game i probably couldn't tell you who the DEV was!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Yikes anki! Glad you are okay! And hugs sue, I hope things get better

when I first started playing these games (2007), I didn't realize there were different developers lol maybe I didn't pay attention, However now I do pay some attention and it does factor into what I demo sometimes like for instance, ERS games haven't interested me in ages so I just stopped downloading them.. I usually read cbtx's reviews on them and if she/he likes the game I will demo it because we both say the exact same things about them. However, I did demo, the latest Shadow Wolf Mysteries and I liked it even though I only own the first one and didn't care for the rest. But then there are some developers, Id buy on the spot if I found out the game is by them aka Mad Head Games. Eipix are really good but lately I haven't liked their new games as much as their first offerings. Some games you just know who they are by just by looking at screen shots like Blue Tea Games or elephant. Im finding elephant are kind of hit or miss now too.

I guess my favorite developers are
Mad Head Games
Boomzap
Eipix
Playrix
Artifex Mundi
Elefun

& also these but not always...
Elephant when its still creative & not a yawn fest
Alawar-sometimes...they are hit & miss
Blue Tea Games-but they haven't interested me lately either

SO I guess I am swayed a little. Its just some developers are better than others or I know they will have that quality I look for...oh I am rambling again LOL I wish the people who made Burger SHop would make another installment haha

I am still playing gardens inc. I don't have time to play the hidden object games which is grrr because I have some started and so much time has gone by I dont even remember whats going on. Its easier to play TMs then immersing Hogs...

UGH there is a little gnat flying near my face. grrr on other notes. my dog tessa is well again and full of scrappyness. I think she is definitely on the mend from all her issues. Its good to have her back

Lily, yes, there's a CE sale this weekend.    What CEs are you interested in?

The cake was divine!    Lots and lots of creamy chocolate mousse with bitter chocolate bits on the outside and shaved chocolate on the top with marashino cherries.  Yummo!!!!  And yes, this sister is the one who fell down my stairs when she visited and has to have her knee replaced next week.  We did have a fantastic time together, as we always do, but my sister has just left.    But we'll all be together next weekend when we all go away for my mum's 90th.

Thanks so much for the contined prayers.    They are very much needed and very much appreciated.

Oscar, I always make note of the developer when I demo a game but then totally forget about it when I play, unless, of course, the graphics are typical of that developer, like ERS.  And the developer never makes any difference as to whether I decide to get a game or not, or whether to get the CE or SE.  I never take that into consideration and haven't even thought about it before.

Does it sway you?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm not much into tower defense, either.  I have Plants vs. Zombies and another one that uses M3 mechanics but I don't really play them.
Tulula Legend of a Volcano is boring me.  I swear I move my cursor over a spot, then when I use the hint it goes to the spot I already had my cursor over.  You're only in like 2 rooms at a time, though, so no real backtracking.  It's good for intermittent play, each section takes no more than a half hour and they're not really related to; each other, the story is minimal.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Stuesue, my visit to the hospital was only 100SEK (11€)! and the antibiotics was roughly the same .
That cake made my mouth watering...

Tirama, I was thinking the same thing when I played Fill and Cross  BTW I really liked Inspector Parker.

oscar, I don´t think about the developer when I demo, I demo almost everything and decide afterwards

wife meg (nice to see you´re back again ) my favorite developers are
Mad Head
Eipix
Elefun
Artifex Mundi
Elephant ? They have changed, maybe they´re too big.
