Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Mine was for the Ran the Owl cookie jar.  I got it in about 10 minutes and it only cost 75 coins!

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I think the DQ is a load of cr@p.  I'll win the item, but if I don't check back in before midnight it doesn't count.  How does that make any sense?  Because I didn't get the messAGE UNTIL after midnight the item I won at auction this morning ago doesn't qualify?  And I keep  getting ssent back to day 1, even though I've been checking in every day.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

You have to claim your reward for the quest to be considered completed.   When an auction is over, if you don't get a message saying you've won or that you've been overbid, go to the auction and search again for that item.  Then go to your messages.  Doing these actions seems to wake up the server and bring in your e-mails.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

My dq was for the scarf photo.  Easy one.

I've invented my own auction challenge.  I'm pretending I have no inventory and only have 250 coins.  The challenge is to buy and sell until I have 1 of each regular collectible.  And I have to win the items, so buyouts are not allowed.

I started immediately after midnight last night.  Spent 247 coins and won 80 items.  Put 35 items up for auctions expiring in 12 hours.  When the auction expires, I'll calculate my profit and buy some more stuff to auction.  Other than the official DQ, my personal challenge will be my only auction activity.

I've been customizing buildings and have only 4-5 more to do in the Ye Olde English motif.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Interesting little game Tirama!  I just play through the HOS in order, spend much too much time on keys and occasionally check my inventory and resources to see if there's something I need.  I've upgraded a few more buildings to "pirate theme".  The Park Ranger in PawPaw and my Antique Shop in Breezy Bay actually look pretty good with the pirate theme.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

So far I'm enjoying my little game within a game.  I like having a specific goal and a "quest" that can be worked on over a long period of time.

The items I put up for auction sold for a total of 4,137 coins!   The items that didn't sell I relisted for a 6 hour auction.  I just checked and one of those items has a bid for 2,000 coins.  Time to go shopping and find more things to sell.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm customizing the toy shop in the Ye Olde English style.  Only one more building to go after that.  Then I'll go back to buying things for the antique shop.  I don't like the pirate or animal themes so I'm not doing them unless I get a quest to do so.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I've customized to get the Achievement.  If another one pops up I'll pobably do some more.  Or if I get a quest.  I was pretty hapopy with the way my areas looked.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I just checked into ART and read your e-mails.  Listed a pair of earrings.  I'll check back every hour to see if I need to relist them.

I did it!  My Daily Quests was London Bridge and I just won the auction at 10,010.
