Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Lilyr- Well, they are all pretty rough with each other. No matter which one she plays with. Plus the others would go ballistic if we tried to seperate them. And with her being as unbalanced as she is, it's best to not let her play right now. Whenever she loses her balance and slips, she kind of freaks out. Baby steps is best right now. She's had her medicine and is now sleeping. They make her rather relaxed and sleepy. Also, her incision is basically all healed. I think most of her pain and discomfort as of late has been because of that phantom limb pain.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

You know your gang best misscatlady.  I was just getting a picture of lexi being the kid at the playground with her nose pressed up against the fence watching everyone else play.  Also if she fell on the incision or one of the other dogs ran into it that would set the nerves off.

Funny story about phantom limb pain -- We had a patient who had an amputation of a leg (can't quite remember why or how much).  One day we heard a crash from his room.  We ran in and he was picking himself up off the floor.  He had gotten up to go to the bathroom, felt like his leg was still there and actually forgot that it wasn't, went to step on it and fell.  He wasn't hurt and he laughed about it!

Misscat...Good to hear Lexi is feeling better.  Phantom Limb Pain is a funny phenomenon.  Must take the brain some time to rewire itself when it realizes a limb is missing.

Why, Oh Why, did I get the CE of Ghosts Towns: The Cats of Ulthar.  I would have been such a happy camper if I only would have gotten the SE.  I finished the main game and liked the story as it was a good story ( even if it was constantly raining and gloomy looking) and the ending was complete.  I feel like I am just slugging through the bonus story.  Plus, this CE isn't very worthy of CE status.  No voiceovers - doesn't even have a map and there was tons of walking back & forth through the town.  Can't even access the extras until main game and bonus game are complete.
Recommend the SE  - the CE not so much.

lilyr...Congrats on finishing Magic Heroes.  Even though it was no fun for you, you finished it.  I know what you mean about wishing you could delete a game off your purchase history.  For me it is Ghost Town Mysteries: Bodie.  I have never disliked a game so much before or since.  Just seeing it in my purchase history is enough to bring up feelings of loathing.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finally heard back from BF regarding the missing 60% off coupon.  They sent me a coupon for a free SE.  Uh, not good enough guys.  I don't care how backed up things were and that you identified why people didn't the coupons right away and that it will never happen again, I still want what I was told I was going to get.

And the June tally is:  Zero games purchased!  Four games finished.  Maybe I could have finished one or two more but two of the games I chose were real losers.  I'm not the biggest M3 fan in the world but I have enjoyed some of them.  I saw the enthusiastic reviews for MAGIC HEROES, played a bit of it (it had an untimed mode) and decided to get it.  IMHO it was a waste of a PCC.  Long, boring waits until you got all 3 stars so you could finish the board, not that much to "build" but the absolute worst was the music.  From the Castle on I had to play with the sound turned off.  I have never done that before.  Even short loops don't bother me as much as this horrible, horrible music.  I was dragging myself to the end ("finish what you start") and then the bonus boards unlocked.  GAAAAHHH!  I really wish there was a way to remove it from my purchase history!

Same for me.  Bought none, finished four.  Felt the same about Magic Park.  There was just too much of it compared to what you needed to do to fix up the park.

I'm also disappointed in Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom Collector's Edition.  What happened to the beautiful intricate artwork?  The objects to assemble were just so blah.

Not sure what to start next.  DH is having dental work tomorrow, and the holiday quests will be starting in ART.

I need to find 6 SE's to buy this month.  Hope the latest Gardenscapes-type game is released in time.  And bring on more nonograms.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Mystery of Unicorn Castle The Beastmaster and I did but two games Monday to fill my card (well used PCCs).  Through Andrea's Eyes and Panticopian (sp?)

Wasn't there supposed to be a coupon for dl MC again this week?  Or is that the one you are talking about Tirama?

Misscat - I'm very happy to read that Lexi is perking up.  My dogs are my babies too so I know how hard it is to see them hurting or out of sorts.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

The coupon I'm talking about was for downloading Awakening Kingdom. I didn't see the MC offer until it was too late.

I looked through my list of unfinished/never played games and decided I'd finish Big Kahuna Reef 3.  It had played a bit sluggish on my old computer as I got to the higher levels and I thought maybe it will play better on my new computer and I can't finish it quickly.

Uh, it's a new computer and I have to start over.  (Singing under my breath If I Only Had A Brain)

Finished the bonus game for Ghost Towns: The Cats of Ulthar.  It wasn't very long.  Still wish I went with the SE.

June Stats  - 2 games completed and 2 adventure games completed that I have been playing off & on for a few months and I buckled down and finished them off.  The Longest Journey & The Lost Crown.  Acquired 10 new games.

Was looking for something light while watching TV.  Started Snark Busters: All Revved Up.  What a fun game.  No voice overs either so doesn't interfer with listening to the TV.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I do like those Snark Busters, the first one was my favourite.  I'm going to load up Paradise today to make sure it works.

I also enjoy the Flux Family games, but the first one was my favourite. I learned a lot as well.

Today's game looks interesting to me.  I did read the reviews and one poster said that the tutorial helped.  I must say that 9 X out of 10 I do play the tutorial, just in case there is something new, and there sometimes is an achievement.  There was one in mystery Castle, but because I choose the advanced level it didn't give me the option to play see the tutorial.  I live in hope of some exciting new addition to the games, so tutorial it is,  Occasioonally you learn about collectibles too that I otherwise would not have known about without looking in the sg.
