Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished  Olympus Griddlers.  This was the first game that I played by this developer that didn't require you to get 3 stars on every board in able to open the last room.  In spite of that, I played until I had all the stars.   The music on this one was starting to get to me.

I think I'm going to play Surface: Reel Life Collector's Edition next.  And I'm going to try and not buy anything this month, although the latest Awakening looks tempting.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I have finished Dance of  Death. It was interesting
I had to skip some of the puzzles as I didn´t understand the instructions  And the ending was very sudden. But it was fun and unususal.

Oscar, I gave up regarding the coupons. I have two that I didn´t get. CS nowadays are so strange, I also had responses that wasn´t related to my question at all...

Tirama, I was also tired of the music in Olympus Griddlers.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Well, I finished Grim Facade: A Wealth of Betrayal CE (B) and that completes that series which I pretty much enjoyed.  Have to decide which series to work on next but decided to play one of my recent ones and just finished Cadenza: Music, Betrayal and Death CE.  OMG, I loved that game from the graphics, jazz music, different puzzles and HOS that are nothing like I have ever seen before.  Mad Head Games is now one of my favorite developers and I think I have a couple of other games of theirs.  It is now one of my top 5 and I will definitely replay it some day.  Just love it when you find a game that makes you so happy to play it; Madame Fate also made me feel that way.

One bit of advice and I don't think this could be considered a spoiler as I found it on the forum and if I hadn't found it, would have been peeved to no end.  In the extras, when you play the Connection Game, you can't leave the game and go back in as there is a glitch that will prevent you from finishing it.  You need to find all the connections and fill the letter C to continue with others parts of the extras.  So glad I found that info as I was kinda confused when I first started playing it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Hi Tee, thank you for that tip for Cadenza regarding the Connection Game.  I'll remember to finish it before leaving the game....wouldn't have known because I rarely go into the forums to read up on specific games.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've just posted a demo review in my demo review thread of  Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Under the Crimson Moon CE  if anyone's interested.

I recommend the SE but not the CE - no morphing objects, collectibles that I don't class as collectibles, nothing interesting in the Extras.  There's also nothing novel or exciting about the game but I liked the story enough to add it to my possible games to get with a PCC.  I definitely recommend the SE if you like the demo or want to have all the games in the series.  However, I definitely do not think the CE is worth double the price, sale or no sale.  The only reviewer I found who'd finished the game said that it was really short - only 3 hours - although it wasn't stipulated whether that included the bonus chapter or not.

I don't know if the games follow each other or not, as I haven't played any of them yet, even though I have all the previous ones.  If so, then I definitely recommend the SE.

And Tee, thanks for the advice re Cadenza

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just bought my first game for my new iPad.  I got Mahjong Towers Touch.

My iPad is the 64GB iPad Air.  Apple calls the color silver but it looks white to me.  I haven't downloaded the Big Fish Ap yet since the free game is something I just finished playing on the PC (European Mystery: The Face of Envy Collector's Edition).  I wonder how often they change the freebie?  It would be nice to get something that I don't already have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Congratulations Tirama!  Hope you enjoy your iPad.

I just finished MARGRAVE: THE CURSE OF THE SEVERED HEART.  It was pretty good.  I enjoyed the story and the music, the graphics were good but boy I wish it had a jump map!  I got soooo lost quite a few times.  Fortunately the Forums helped set me straight.  I really enjoyed Part II (shadowlocks) because i could do that with very few peeks at the walkthrough.  I was almost finished but didn't have the cotton swab.  I read through all of the Forums and the whole WT only to find that there was supposed to be a HOS in the scene that I needed the cotton swab.  Earlier there hadn't been any sparkles.  After all that reading there was.   There were references to an Act V -- I guess that was the bonus in the CE.  I couldn't find any credits either.  I always read the credits.  This might be the only game I finish this month since there's an AK update.

stusue -- Thanks for the review of the new SHADOW WOLF game.  I was all set to get the CE until I read your review.  I'll get the SE.

I'm going to hold off on the CE sale until Monday.  If the code works, fine.  If it doesn't also fine.

Congratulations, Tirama!  I hope you have many, many hours of gaming fun together!

Have you thought to write to CS, explaining that the free game you get you already have, and have only just finished playing, and see if it's possible to get a different one?

And Happy Birthday!

I played Margrave: Curse of the Severed Heart what seems like a lifetime ago!  I remember I loved it.  I'm going to replay it before playing the following ones.

There's still not a single review that I can find that says anything about the bonus chapter in Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Under the Crimson Moon CE and I think there's still only one review from someone who's finished the game.  No one seems to review after playing the game, just after playing the demo.

I don't think I'm getting any CEs but, if I decide I want to, it will also be on Monday to get the extra punches and, if it doesn't work, so be it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do when you lose all sound on your PC?  I've been working at it for hours but have had no success.  Every troubleshooting I've tried has told me that everything's working fine, but still no sound.  I've updated my drivers, etc, but still no sound.  When I try to play some music I'm told that there was a problem when it tried to use Windows Media Player but, having troubleshooted it, it's working fine.

I'm confused and upset because I wanted to demo Myths of the World: Fiends and Fairies CE today but I don't want to play it without sound.
