sunshine, you are such a crafty person ~ everything looks so good.

Thanks for asking about my son.  Thank goodness he is done with radiation.  I noticed his neck is starting to heal up from the burn but he has been having a lot of mucousitis in his mouth which they say is normal, guess since his salivary glands are affected.  There is lots of spitting but hopefully once everything is done, it will go back to normal.  After his second chemo treatment, his kidney function was affected and had to get IV fluids for a couple of hours.  They have decided to break the last chemo into three smaller doses and he still has one of those to go.  He has periodic visits for fluids and yesterday had to have a blood transfusion (2 units) ~ that is apparently normal too as the chemo affects the blood.  Found out he has the same blood type as me, AB+ which is fairly rare (3% of the population) and I was surprised and think my mom also was that type.  He was really feeling bad on Thursday so no work and I think that was what led to the need for blood transfusion.  Overall, he has been coping pretty well.  They will do a scan in 3 months so until that time, he will have monthly visits and gradually work up to working FT.  Guess I will have a roommate for a few more months.

Thought I would just post a catch-up post about my son since his cancer diagnosis.  He was living in a Sober Living Home and doing great but once he started taking pain medication (narcotics), he couldn't stay there any longer as there are also recovering drug addicts so he is back staying with me for now.  He is almost 6 months sober which I'm so thankful for.

It took them 2 months after his diagnosis to finally get his treatment started which really upset me but there was Christmas and once he met with chemo doctor who wanted to get things going but had to be coordinated with radiation and they seemed to be dragging their feet.  Guess they have to decide a lot of variables and such so finally started the first week of January.  His chemo is done every 3 weeks with one big dose that he has to do intravenously and takes about 6-7 hours.  He has not had any problem with it, no nausea and not a lot of fatigue but the radiation is kicking his butt.  He has to do it M-F and takes about 30 minutes but is affecting his ability to eat solids, thus his reliance on feeding tube which he wasn't using much until the dietitian got onto him and said he needed to do at least 4 times a day for added nourishment.  He has had some issues with the skin on his neck and tongue (lost his taste) and they have had to put him on a pain patch along with hydrocodone first and now oxycodone so of course, I'm worried about addiction to medication but he has to be able to manage his pain.  He has completed 4 wks out of 6 on the radiation and has last chemo treatment next Friday (his birthday) and then guess they will do a PET scan to check results.  Not sure about treatment regimen after that.

He has been able to continue to work and got insurance in December through the temp agency so that's helping a lot with his medications and co-pay.  There is a lady at Whirlpool (HR) that is really helping him and told him on Monday that if he needed to take off because of treatments/fatigue f

Thanks for your input.  I ended up doing a live chat with McAfee and did a live remote with them.  The guy added a link to BFG in trusted sites and it worked.  I have a feeling though after reading your comment, Fudge, that he just happened to do it after the main page was finally available, because it would not let me get to forums, just kept receiving the Whoa! advisory.  I remember seeing some link with Seoul something so also immediately cancelled.  Just tried everything today and it was fine.

When I tried to go to Big Fish today with my desktop link, my McAfee Advisor popped up a warning advisory.  Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem with their security program or could it just be a McAfee thing.  I know years ago there was an issue with McAfee.  If it continues, I will probably call them to see what's the deal.

Sadly, that will not be one of my New Year's resolutions.
