Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Thanks.  Glad to have that one over with.  And because I managed to get it so cheaply, I can use it as part of my personal auction challenge.

So far I have won at auction 384 items and spent a total of 39,094 coins.  I'm keeping 158 of the items as part of the quest to buy 1 of everything, I've sold 178 items for a total of 101,285 coins, leaving me with 48 items to sell and a profit of 62,191 to use to buy some of the 142 items I still need.

I've got most of the items I considered easy and a few of the ones that I figured would be really difficult.  The real challenge is finding what I need without hurting somebody who needs it for a real quest.  So I'm a bit limited as to whom I feel comfortable overbidding.

Your personal quest in ART is going very well!  Do you have this much success with money in RL?

I wish.  It's easy to take chances when the money's not real.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

It was slow at work the other day and I was checking in and doing my daily quest, the cotton stuffed cutie.  A lady and her son walked up to play and I was telling her I was bidding in a virtual auction for a virtual stuffed animal, but mine was going to cost over 10 grand!
My game is so totally messed up.  One of my games is all animal theme, the other is all pirate theme.  I'm stuck on the animal theme.  I can log into each game but they act wonky.  Sometimes I get a DQ and then within 5 minutes it disappears and I get a different one.  The painting series of quests is just...  I was stuck in one game, the very first painting, the amber one, has never been in the MN toy shop.  I hate to think how many times I've played it and it's never been listed as a possible item.  So I played the other game. cashed in the collection, got the clue, went to the toy shop and got the painting in picky shopper first time through.  Played a bunch of minis and did the USA map collection.  Got that painting.  Then my game went screwy and it lost both my paintings.  It wants me to go to the toy shop and get the first painting again.  I think I need to clear a cache or something like that, but I don't know how to find it.  I think I could manage to clear it on my browser, but that wouldn't be where the game data is.  And I have no idea where it would be in the game files.  My Game Manager is acting up, too.  It gives me the pop up that GM has quit working and then it closes my game out.  Most of the time in ART when I try to switch between my two game the GM crashes

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Wendy -- Sorry you're having so much trouble with your games.  I know parts of the game need a strong Internet connection (auction) but that shouldn't be needed for the paintings, but what do I know?  I've read that other people have had problems with the painting disappearing.  I don't think I've read about DQs disappearing.  Do you start your game from a Desktop icon?  I do and I get that pop up about the GM having quit working when I close the game using the gear (top right) and then try to start another game before ART has totally closed.  All I see on my Desktop is the icon but if I wait a few seconds my mouse cursor will get a little revolving circle by it for a few seconds.  When that's gone I can choose another game without getting that pop up.  Hope you can figure the other problems out.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I've collected all the bits of the other paintings and exchanged them, now I'm working on finding them.  I'll worry about getting the first painting after I have all the rest.  I leveled up today but I had almost full energy because I haven't been doing anything.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I managed to find all the paintings.  Some collections I had to cash in several times, but I finally did it.  Now I have nothing for a quest, though.  Is there anything after the paintings?

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Nothing after the paintings.  Just the DQ's.  I'm saving all the stars earned from the DQ's and I'm going to use them all at once and pretend I've gone to Vegas.  Keep track of how much loot I win.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Got the Silver Knife as my DQ.  Not many out there and they all cost at least 10,000 coins.
