Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Yet another glitch.  Can't unlock Captain Matthew's house.  Can't pick up key, clicking on key or Matthew results in nothing.  No list of objects to find.  Two part quest so it will cost 10 gold bars to skip.  Wasted 8 units of energy for nothing.

This game sucks big time.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm so sorry that this game is giving you grief.  I usually don't wait for any quests to upgrade buildings, I just upgrade when I see that a mini-game requires it to be done in order to play the quest.  Most of my buildings are upgraded.  It made no sense for me to wait for a request, I've never seen one.

Please, Tirama, if you are not going to play anymore, let me know before you uninstall the game.  You have lots of money and stuff and I could use some of that....I will sell something for a ridiculous price and you can buy it from me?  If you are still playing, then pls disregard.

Typo in previous post.  I wasted 83 unites of energy to get nowhere.

I'm sorry, but even if I quit, I'm not giving away anything.  I've tried giving away my stuff in Midnight Castle, but people aren't asking for what I've got listed.   I've spent HOURS each day building up my coins and gold and collectibles at the expense of playing my other games.  I'm not going to spend hours setting up auctions.

I'm one glitch away from asking BF to refund the money I've spent on BoomZap's last two CE's I've yet to play.  They've obviously spread their resources too thin and I have serious doubts now about the quality of their premium games.

I would have been content to wait quietly for a fix to the glitches if they hadn't made the auctions superfluous and I certainly didn't knock myself out the past two weeks amassing gold so that I could use it to skip quests.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm so sorry Tirama.  I have a couple of minor glitches since the update too.  Do you belong to PondFriends?  There is a thread there for both of the F2Ps and a person from Boomzap (monika) who reads what we write and passes it along to the DEVs.

I don't belong, but I've read the threads.  I left a post in the BF technical thread regarding the latest glitch.  The mods aren't addressing any specific issue, just issung the usual "It's being worked on.  We've passed your concerns along" and then swiftly moving on to all the exciting stuff that's in the next update.

I can already guess. We'll  get a Valentine's Day update with all sorts of special stuff that will cost lots of coins and gold bars.  But the glitches that prevent peope from moving forward will remain.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Tirama, I think your complaints have worked because I just went into the game to play and you don't get a whole bunch of stuff when you find an item,  The first item might give you a bunch of stuff, then after that, wow, only 1 collectible, next item....1 collectible, next...none....next just 1.  Such a vast difference from yesterday when I collected a whole bunch of stuff.

Maybe Boomzap changed things again because of complaints?   Well, I don't know how I feel about that because I was enjoying myself yesterday collecting all that stuff...I should have played more, now it's back to normal or worse.  Maybe you will be happy now?

I don't see how they could have changed it without an update.  This program sounds very unstable.  Rewarding of goodies in HO scenes shouldn't be arbitrary and capricious.

What will make me happy is to see the glitches fixed. Paying to skip a quest shoud be a matter of choice, not necessity.  I've already forked over 5 gold bars because of teh Red MInes issue, I'm not handing over another 10 to open Captan Matthew's house.  So of course, that HO scene (and any collectibles it gives) is now offlimits to me.

Next would be to make the drop percentage for collectibles and resources reasonable.  You shouldn't have to play a HO scene half a dozen times to get something, but neither should it be like Christmas with presents galore either.

If they fix that, then people will have to use strategy deciding which collectible sets to go for and whether to get what they need in HO's, mini games or the auction.  That brings the auction back to being a critical part of the game and will make some sense regarding the giving of gifts in the future.

But I very much doubt any of these things will be fixed in the next update.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

well, since paying to skip the Red MInes quest resulted in needing to upgrade porcelain place, which untimately led to yet another glitchy quest, I decided to try upgrading some other buildings.  Upgraded the library, no new quests.  I'm now upgrading ranger's office and the toy factory.

Opening up the game produced a banner proclaiming a sale on coins and gold bars but I don't see any difference in prices.  Not that I would spend any money on  a game that doesn't work.  But if there is a sale on currency, after we've aready had a sale on food, followed by a sale on keepsakes, I'm pretty certain that the next update will be a holiday one and the quests will involve using a lot of coins, gold and energy to complete them.

And if anything has to be found at Captain Matthew's, I'm royally screwed.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I've updated the following buildings to level 2:

Library
Philip's place
Park Ranger
Butterfly Sanctuary
Crawford's Fishery
Botanical Gardens
Bird Watching
Art Studio
Photo Studio

Animal Lodge was already at level 2, ditto snack shack.

No new quests.

Updated Toy store to level 3 and played mini game 5.

Oh look, one new quest asking for shot glasses.  Are there really that few quests in this game?

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I'm confused now because I was moving along nicely, receiving things here and there but today, I reached a quest for two tea pots and think it was at the scene with the van and two cars.  I played it at least 5 times and only received xp/coins so I went to the second one and got the blue tea pot right away.  Used a food resource to max up and then after two or three scenes, Leveled up (hate that when I still have energy) and still no teapot so finally skipped with 5 gold bars. After reading Tirama's post, am I to understand if you pay to skip a quest, you no longer get any collectibles from that scene??

I opened a new scene (the one with the film which I need for a quest for some guy) and all I got was XP, coins and maybe two bricks.  This just doesn't seem like the same game anymore.  If it continues like this, I will probably ditch as I need the time I spend on it to work on my monthly challenges which I need to finish by Friday and we start a new two-month challenge so will have lots of other stuff to work on.  I'm thinking they are wanting you to spend real money (hence the sale) which I will not do ~ didn't do it on FB and won't here.  The only place I spend any money is on Pogo for gems as I have been a member there for 5 years and enjoy buying the badge albums since I use those games in my forum challenges.
