Did you guys notice the update today?  Maybe it'll resolve the problem with the mine,  I hope.
I'm downloading it now.

Thanks for mentioning this.  I'm not updating until I read good things about the update on the BF forums.  If I lost all my achievements (and the goodies they've paid out) not to mention my 350,000 coins and all the stuff I bought at auction this morning, I'd go postal.

I've been waiting to do the Red Mine quest between 2-3 weeks.  I can wait a little longer.

I just finished doing the update for ART, then I went into my game and everything was still there, all my money and stuff.  So I started doing the endless quest to find the dinner jacket in Red Mines, which I have been trying without success for so long.  Yippee, I think the update worked and boy, was I surprised.  When I clicked on an item that was required, wow!!! it gave so much stuff, each time I clicked, more stuff....and I mean more than the usual that we get.....so on and on, until I finally got the dinner jacket....and would you believe 12 envelopes in just that 1 game plus a whole bunch of stuff....simply amazing!!!!    I'm glad I updated before trying Red Mines again.  Getting the dinner jacket got me a new quest.

I also managed to do the quest in Phil's place (the one which requires 16 envelopes) and got what was needed.   That gave me another quest to find something for Philip.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I haven't seen any mention that the update fixes the problem for the people who can't get Red Mine to play in anythig other than fast shopper mode.   It's great that people are getting more goodies for doing HO scenes, and I'll download the update before I do any, but all these extra collectibles that people get will probably impact the auctions, nobody will need to buy anything and the auction is the only thing that I can do, unless I cave and pay the ransom money to skip the quest.  I can already see the effect.

This update sounds like a bone has been thrown to us:  give the players a lot of stuff for playing the HO's and hope it buys the devs more time to fix other issues that have been a problem for almost 2 months now.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Apparently "someone" doesn't want any negative comments.  This is my third try at this post.  I updated and didn't lose anything BUT when I go to the "cities" I can only scroll right.  I have to close the game and then reenter for the scroll to start again.  And again, it only scrolls right.  I had a couple of problems with the auction too.  I tried to enter a minimum bid on a couple of items.  When I did I got a box that said "bid error".  I exited the Auction and went back.  There was still no bid (and lots of time on the auction).  Again, I got the error.  Also I tried to bid on a couple of other items that had bid and buyout boxes.  When I went to bid both bid and buyout disappeared.

The only person other than yourself who can delete your posts is me, and I haven't deleted anybody's posts in any threads.   Boardhosts's servers are probably experiencing high useage and that is affecting performance.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

That was supposed to be a joke Tirama.  Maybe I'm still a bit gunshy from BFG CCC.   Monika said the 40 gold for Christmas will be fixed in the next update when we get new stuff.  I don't think anyone asked about the Red Mine thing.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

The update made no discernable change for me so far.  Still have all my stuff,  the mine is still the same.  When I click on  "Silhouette Mode,"  it says I need amateur status.  Huh?  I'm already professional.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I've played Red MIne 4 times.  The issue is not fixed.  But, hey, we're going to be getting some cool and exciting stuff in the next update.  Of course, if I want to have any chance of accessing that cool stuff, I'll have to fork over those gold bars to skip the Red Mine quest.

Feel like a total fool for waiting for the update.  Not sure I even want to continue.  As I posted to the BF forums:

Receiving double digits worth of resources and just about every collectible available at each city has made collecting sets (after you have earned the achievement) completely unnecessary and consequently has removed any element of stategy from the game. It's now just another straight HOG that's been tarted up to look like more than it is.

Totally disgusted with BoomZap and the twit of a monitoron the BF forums.   I was seriously considering spending some money on this game but now have removed BoomZap from my very short list of developers whose games I must have and buy without trying.  If fact, they might just find themselves on the list of devs whose games I don't demo because I know I won't be buying.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Well, nothing yet from either BoomZap or BF regarding the latest update.  Guess I'll pay the "new player surcharge" to skip the quest.  Probably won't miss the gold since I don't know how much longer I'll continue to play this game, now that it's been turned into a glorified straig HOG. Just play whatever HO or mini game you're sent to and resources and collectibles will rain down like manna from heaven. Just brainless busy work.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

Tirama, you're probably right, with all the collectibles that are raining down on us, it makes the auction a little pointless.  Still, there are the priceless items which are not easy to get, and you only get 1 of them when you go into the HO scene that has it.  You could just play it whenever you feel like it....seems such a pity for you to give up on it since you've already come so far.

Re: Antique Road Trip: American Dreamin'

I have had it with this game.  After forking over the 5 gold bars to skip the Red Mines quest, I get a quest to play a mini game that's not available because I need to update the building?  Do we no longer receive quests to update buildings?  I've waited two weeks for this?

I've spent HOURS the past two weeks on the auction making collections and building up my resources and for what?  Now with this update,  anybody can accumulate the same amount of bricks, paint and lumber that took me two weeks by playing HO scenes for a day or two.

So now I wait two more hours for the upgrading of the building (and I am NOT shelling out more gold to speed it up, don't even suggest it) and I get to play ONE mini game lasting less than 1 minute in the hopes that a new quest will arrive.  What a $#%*&% joke.
