It took me 15 trips to the Black Bull to get the 2 compasses. Total energy used at the Black Bull = 916. 

Add the frustration of using that much energy to the fact that because of programming bugs I had to leave my game running the length of the quest, meaning I couldn't play anything else on my iPad while waiting for energy to recharge, and on find quests, if you cash in a collectible set that includes something you have to find, the program minuses the object from those you've found, so I have some quests showing I've found -1.

And apparently, another timed event is on the drawing board.

And riddle mode is so short, you don't really get much of anything for the amount of energy it costs you on the higher trophy levels.

Yikes!  I didn't know that about cashing in FIND collections.  That sucks.  Nooooo.  Not another timed  event!!

That can't be it, because I need 3 Medical Runes and it shows me at -7.  I looked at them in my collection and I've never cashed in that set.  I don't know why it says -7, though.  It was -8 before I just found one.  It's a "Find" quest.

But did you give somebody else any medical runes after you opened that quest?  Or sell them at auction?  Any time you use something that is asked for in a find quest, it minuses it out of the quest.  It's one bitch of a bug.

The find glitch was introduced during one of the updates.  On my PC game, which I always played online, I had no trouble with completing the timed quests in several sessions.  I did have trouble with the Leodici quests which was in a different update.  I'm not sure which update introduced the negative numbers in the find quest.

My iPad is online.  I was scared to try playing the timed quests offline.  I'm hoping to avoid trigering them so early this time around and maybe the glitch will be fixed in the next uodate.

I'd really like to get through the quests as they were first released, playing the artist Myke quests, for example, before Raphael shows up.  I'll have to make an effort to play them in order, even if I don't really feel like upgrading certain buildings.

Well, I am a dummy.  I used all my energy and I have 2 dresses.  What makes me dumb is I really should have used the keepsake that reduces energy needed for the HO scenes  I could have used it for my full energy bar, then the level up, then a max food fill up and that would have worked for the whole half hour.  Now I have to use food if I want to go on and I only have 2 stupid dresses and I need almost 20,000 for my next level up.  So now I don't know if I want to leave laptop on and use food or just forget about it and try again tomorrow.  The deal is that I can't turn the game off or I lose my two dresses, right?
Well, I went and played the Hut for 1/2 hour with a double coins keepsake, now I have 12,000 of the 19,000 I need to level up and have enough money for several building upgrades.  Sure wish we had the keys in this game, the extra food would be so much more helpful here.  I would almost think they would have to abandon ART with all the glitches and special events.  Everyone has so much money, food, and gold that there's no need to spend any real money over there.  Turns out I  have one game that doesn't have the unicorn, I'm tempted to not do that quest and to use the crystals for an energy increase item instead. 
ETA:  I leveled up at the hut and used  a 30?% off HO energy keepsake, and then used my max energy soup to go some more and now I only need 1 leafy dress.  Don't know whether to use on of my two remaining max energy soups.
