Re: Awakening Kingdoms

I finally got the last 3 unicorn feathers I needed (12!).  Now there's another quest.  I didn't even open that one.  A couple of days ago someone was asking where the books were.  She'd gotten the orbs but there were no books.  I still am not that far.  The Boomzap rep finally showed up and said the bookshelf (and books) would open in another update.

I have to agree with you Tirama.  It's much more like drudgery than fun.

Has anyone seen stusue?  Did I miss a post that said she wouldn't be here for a while?  I hope that's it and she is all right.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Got tired of trying for the pink moonflowers so gave up and bought 2 at auction.  I found 2 buyouts 1 for 2400 and 1 for 2500 which were the cheapest I could find.  I think I made a good deal and it saved me from countless tries at Dawnshadow ?.  How come I can never remember the proper name when trying to write about it.

I think I was doing a lot better before latest update on finding items.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

sunshinej -- You might be correct.  I know Boomzap has said that they aren't doing ART & AK to make money but... really?  And I thought it interesting that right after this update there was a sale on crystals and bolgins for real money.  Also interesting were the comments in BFG Game Forum that the amounts that you get for your RL money are about 1/2 what they were in earlier sales.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

lilyr...I just read the "You have got to be kidding me" thread in the forum.  I wouldn't have known that they decreased the amount of crystals and bolgins for the same amount of money because I haven't looked at those sales.

My opinion is I think Boomzap is doing all they can to slow the gameplay way down by making the quests harder and the drop rates slower so maybe they can work on other projects.

I am just glad I got my pegacorn for 69 cents when I did.  No way would I spend 145 crystals for it.  I haven't even healed him all the way yet.  Those unicorn feathers and teabags are so hard to get.

I played Dawnshadow Lake this morning and the first item that dropped was a pink moonflower.  HaHa  Now that I don't need them.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Maybe Boomzap IS trying to slow the game play down.  But they also seem to be frustrating a lot of players who say they are moving on to other games.  I'm glad I got my pegacorn for 69 cents too.  Heck, I don't think I have 145 crystals!  I think items seem to drop more often when you don't have a quest for them or have just finished a quest needing them.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Making items drop more frequently when you don't have a quest is great for the people who started the game when it first came out, but anybody who started with the update that included the Yura quests is getting screwed.

That update didn't tack the new quests at the end of the previous quests, they were interspersed with the old quests, which is why I still have the quest for Raphael and those stupid portraits open 2 updates later.

I played Rosetum Gardens another 4 times.  Again, no mirrors.  That's 13 tries with nothing to show for it.  Once I get all the whatever it is that I need to play the mini game, I'm moving on to another location.

I feel like the only way I can finish any quest that involves handing over inventory is to buy it at auction.  At the prices people are asking, I'm looking at 50,000 or more coins to finish a quest.

As much as I love my squabbit, maybe it's time to try a different game.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Well, I got a mirror on my 14th try.  Still need 4 more.  Let's see, 4 times 14 = 56.  Played another 3 times with no luck.  So the score so far is:  17 tries, 1 mirror.

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

Tirama -- I used a keepsake while I was playing to get the coruscating dust.  In the 1/2 hour it lasted I got SEVEN dusts!  Another player said she thinks this works.  At least it did for her and me.  Give it a try!

I'll have to wait for my energy bar to completely fill AND use some food in order to play for 30 minutes.  How many times did you play the scene?

Re: Awakening Kingdoms

I played it about 15 - 18 times.  My energy tank is only 800.  I used the whole tank and a couple more scenes to finish the 30 minutes.  It was Ancient Pond so it only cost 54 energy each time.  The last time we had a food sale I bought a HUGE amount of sandwiches.  They're almost gone.
