Business Decisions in the Gaming World

Starting a new thread so that this topic doesn't overwhelm the finish your games thread.

Here's a link to the memo that Paul Thelen released.

Re: Business Decisions in the Gaming World

Today when I launched my BFG game manager my "deal" was a bunch of casino coins, and no matter how many times I hide the BFG casino link, it comes back.
This seals the deal for me, after I use my pcc's I am cancelling.
I'll be buying elsewhere.

Re: Business Decisions in the Gaming World

Well, my BFG GM still hasn't changed today - no casino thing at all and no casino game. As I said, I think it must be just in the US. Those of us who live elsewhere have been lucky enough to avoid this.

yikes, I saw it in my GM too.  Perhaps it only appears today?  I won't cancel because I only buy games from BF and nowhere else.

Re: Business Decisions in the Gaming World

I don't think it is showing up for Mac yet. It was all over my screen in the GM

I understand having to make decisions, lay off people and such to help a company grow. What I don't understand is the way they are going about it.I am sure they have been thinking and planning about the changes for awhile but the way they are letting everyone know, with very little notice just sits wrong with me. From what I read they will work with the employees being let go to make it a smooth transition. I assume some kind of severance pay.

I will probably keep buying from them since it is a site I trust as far as viruses but I am also going to start looking at prices at the actual devs site.

Re: Business Decisions in the Gaming World

Wow. There are some really pissed off people over at the pond friends forum. I really doubt BFG is going anywhere. They are just making some very unpopular decisions right now. And all at the same time.

That being said, I do see the Casino game on my GM. I deleted it and so far its not showing up again. But we will see. It is pretty presumbtuous of them to make everyone have it on their GM. Not everyone wants it.

Re: Business Decisions in the Gaming World

I'm not going anywhere else, either.  Looked around for soewhere new last yerar after BF linked buying their MCF game to a half-price CE sale.  I mostly play HOGS/HOPAS and nowhere else has the selectio BFG does.

And I doubt I could get the same bargains elsewhere.  Thanks to my half-price credits, CE BOGO's  and the bonus punches, I've bought 32 CE's and 30 SE's this year, average cost per game is $2.05.

Snap misscat - I was thinking that when I was over there today.

I don't have and never had any intentions to do my purchasing elsewhere.  The game forums at bfg are pretty sparse for posters right now but I imagine it will change.

Glad I'm not the only one. LOL

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same way. I don't plan on shopping elsewhere for games. I sometimes buy stuff from Amazon but that is about it. And that is very rarely if they have a $2.99 deal on a game I want.
