Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Those lawsuits are the definition of frivolous. Personally I hate reverse marketing, and having to remember to cancel something, I never sign up for them just to get the free month.

And I just don't get spending real money to win virtual money. Although the game is called casino, it is gambling imo.

It funny the changes that popped up today for me both on the site on my PC, iPad and GM I received in an email over a week ago.  It was an email I had used years ago but don't buy or have a GM associated with it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I'm always amazed that people will file lawsuits that proclaim to the world "I'm too stupid to read the details before I buy something and I'm too lazy to check and balance my credit card statements more than once every 18 months or so."

As for lawsuit #2 - the filer believes that BF is providing online gambling, which is illegal, but in spite of it being illegal, she plonked down her money and lost it, so BF should continue to allow her to gamble online, even though it's illegal, until she wins her money back???????

Yes, casino gambling online using real money to attempt to win more real money is illegal in the US.  That is why on the BF site you can only play for virtual money - that makes the game entertainment.  No different that using a game club credit or 6.99 to by one of the many slot machine games sold.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Definitely a case of buyers remorse with the casino one. Frankly, on a personal level  I don't care whether it's gambling or not. But to me it is quite different than a one time plonk down to buy a casino game out right with no other real money spent.

It is illegal in Canada if it's not based outside the borders.

And yes the credit card statement who doesn't notice?  Bfg was nice enough to refund a year.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I finished all of my challenge games!   The next group of CE's I want to finish is the Dark Parables series, but I probably won't start on them until Monday.  During the weekend, I'll work on my free to play games.

I don't get some of these reviews on bfg.  I was looking at today's and there are two reviews, both not very complimentary but give 4 stars and recommend.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Just finished The Last Dream and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I'm not a cat person (allergic) but that little guy was something else.  Got such a kick when I would point my cursor where I wanted him to go and he would look up and slowly shake his head back and forth as if he was saying "not!"  I also chuckled when I saw him in the underwater scene with the diving mask/snorkel on.

You all mentioned the puzzle grid where all the pieces needed to fit, and count me in as also someone who spent quite a bit of time on it until I realized the pictures on the pieces - duh!  Also enjoyed the one where the squares were stacked that had items in them and you had to move them so they would fall and make matches to clear the board - that one was a little tricky and needed to play around with it a bit but finally got it.  Missed two of the achievements because I skipped one puzzle and used a hint or two in the FROG scenes.  Good game and good music.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I wasn't that keen on The Last Dream, but I haven't really liked any hOPA for a few weeks now.
I started Grim Facade Sinister Obsession CE with Funpass last night.  It's not on my BFG purchase history but it seems sooo familiar, but maybe I'm just remembering the demo.  You have to find coins to purchase some of your inventory items from the store.  I got stuck, went to the strategy guide, did everything it said, but it said a certain action should trigger a HO but it won't trigger and there's nothing else I can do.
I have to use a credit at Gamehouse this week so I'll have to go see what I want.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

teeitup...Glad you like The Last Dream.  I too really enjoyed it.  I remembered that puzzle where you had to move the pieces around to make matches, another clever puzzle.  I thought that the cat was cute with the way it shook his head no when you tried to make it do something it didn't want to do.

I bought Parallels Crossing  and have been playing it.  I am stuck at a safe with letter dials and went to youtube to see if I could figure it out by watching the video and that puzzle was skipped by the player, so must try to figure out on my own.  I might have to open a thread about the puzzle for help at BFG.  As you can tell there is no walkthroughs or even Hidden Object scenes...just puzzles and adventure.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I finished Laruaville 1 with Funpass, it's a double pack, and I own 3 and 4.   I like them.   I got Queen's Garden Halloween with my GH credit, which filled my card, so I now have 3 credits and 1 reward coupon.  They've been getting a lot of older BFG CEs.  I don't have that many CEs, but somehow I have every one they've come out with except Awakenings Skyward.  I'm not in a HOPA mood anyway, I'm liking TMs and M3s right now.  I think I did finish a HOPA recently,  Haunted Halls Childhood Fears, I went back and finished it since Tirama? told me the last chapters were really short.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I've been sick all week, have a really bad cold, cough, and sore throat.

Last weekend, I played Fashion Solitaire.  It's a cross between solitaire and paper dolls.  The clothing cards make up the tableau and the models you have to dress are the foundations.  Took me ages to finish because on the easier beginning levels, I was a perfectionist and want all the outfits to be lovely.  But as the levels got more difficult, I started settling for one nice looking outfit and who cares what the rest of them looked like.  Let me tell you, I put together some really ugly outfits.

Yesterday, I felt well enough to tackle Dark Parables: Ballad of Rapunzel Collector's Edition.  Breezed through the Prologue and the first 3 chapters.  Figured I'd be able to finish today, since all I had was 1 chapter plus the bonus chapter.

Wrong!  Chapter 4 is a long as the first 3 chapters combined.  A lot of back and forth, and although the game was released in June, 2014 - no jump map.  So I'll have to try and finish it up tomorrow.
