Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I'm not a fan of demons/ insane asylums/ evil doctors, etc. either.  I like the HIDDEN EXHIBITION games, good mystery games, games with some humor and  games with good story lines.  I just finished an easy AGATHA CHRISTIE  (basically a HOG) but it had a good mystery and nice, crisp graphics.

Bathory, now there is a scary individual.  I knew nothing about her until  Delphine LaLaurie  was a focal story on American Horror Story Coven and in one game I played.  and I looked it up to see if it was real, shudder.

I'm currently playing Nevertales Legends. Sun I like a good mystery that has clues to follow etc. not holding your hand leading you around by the nose.  That one series escapes me, it started out great, now even their clue board hasn't any challenge.  I love the Fear for Sale games where everything you touch in the game seems to do something.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Oh, that Bathory weirdo.  I saw a documentary on tv about her, so I knew she was a real person.  Yuck!

Oscar...Might the game series be Dead Reckoning?

I just did a cute Christmas beta by Daily Magic Production.  It was called Yuletide Legends.  Santa not only has a twin brother, but the brother is also a bad boy.  Locked up in a snowglobe for 500 years he is now bent on revenge and taking away Christmas.  Can you as a elf named Tinsel stop him?

The game had a nice flow to it, somewhat on the easy side.  I liked the Christmas-y feel to the game, of course I only got to play the first chapter so I hope it still feels Christmas-y further on in.

I am going to get it when it comes out, because I sure do like playing Christmas themed games.

Ding ding ding!  Bingo Sun!  That series went south imo.

That xmasy game sounds like fun.  500 yrs in a snow globe, lol.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I'm still playing Silver Tale, I hit level 100 and I read that there's 200!  I'm also still playing Cadenza Havana.  I read that one was short but I guess I'm really slow, lol.  Also still plugging along on Avalon Solitaire, my 'play in bed game' so I only get a few hands in before I zonk.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

Like last year, we've got a 3-day BOGO sale for the Memorial Day weekend.  And like last year, I'm not going to buy anything.  I'm going to hope for a Super Sale next month.

Finished  Hidden Expedition: Dawn of Prosperity Collector's Edition and started the next one Fountain of Youth.  The main female villain can't pronounce Seville properly.  Insists on making it rhyme with level.

I think my favorite HOPA's are the mystery ones where you play as a detective and they don't saddle you with a cute little helper.  The villain is a human, not a demon, witch, warlock, ghost, or somebody possessed by evil spirits.  And you don't know who the bad guy is right away.  I don't mind cute little helpers in fantasy games.

Hate the games where there is no story other than:  Person A is evil, so go stop them from destroying whatever.  In other words, go play some hidden object scenes and some puzzles.  And I REALLY hate the ones where you defeat the villain only to have to do it all over again when the next sequel comes out with the same villain on the loose.

I agree, TiramaSue!

I've now finished Behind the Reflection which I enjoyed so went onto Behind the Reflection 2: Witch’s Revenge which I didn't enjoy as much.
Then finished Beyond the Legend: Mysteries of Olympus and Biggest Little Adventure and enjoyed both.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2016

I totally agree about games you like Tirama.

I've played both of the BEHIND THE REFLECTION games FudgeChi.  I don't remember anything about them though.  I don't have the other 2 games you mention.

I looked up Beyond the Legend.  It sounds good, but the items in the HOs and the instructions for puzzles seem to be white on a light gray ground.  That would seem pretty hard to see.  I couldn't find BIGGEST LITTLE ADVENTURE.  Is that a GH game?

Lily, the instructions and items are like that but they are OK to see and I don't have the best eyesight in the world!
Yes, Biggest Little Adventure is a GH game. I don't think BFG have it. Are you a GH member?

FudgeChi -- Thanks for the information on BEYOND THE LEGEND.  Besides my opinion, there were complaints about the white on gray in the Forums too.  I'll demo it.  I'm not a GH member.  It wouldn't make sense for me, since I finish so few games in a month.  It must be really good for you, though!
