Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Burdaloo
This is definitely a unique play on the usual match 3 game!

The graphics are amazing. Colors of the Burdaloos are bright, cheery colors that you can't help but smile at while playing. lol I can't comment on music or sound fx as I had it turned down. Puppy sleeping.

The gist of the game is to make matches of 3 or more Burdaloos - quite interesting looking "birds" that live on several islands. You visit the first island and start making matches! But, it's NOT that easy - lol. No, no, no! On the left side of the screen near the bottom shows WHICH Burdaloos you need to find before the timer runs out. It may be find certain colors, colors in a certain order and more! And it's NOT just a unilateral 3 or more across horizontally or vertically. No! You can make GROUP matches too! How cool is that!

And, of course, let's not forget the gift shop where you can purchase items that will be very useful as you level up. And don't forget ..... when you finish an island ZOOM OUT so you can see the next island!

I absolutely loved this game. It even has a "zen" mode which is untimed. That was rather boring for me.

Come along on MY vacation and let's have some fun finding interesting looking colorful Burdaloos!

 ENJOY!

Overall Impression:  This game is at least worth playing the demo!  The colorful and unusual looking "burdaloos" will definitely make you smile!

Gardens, Inc. 3 - Bridal Pursuit

I usually don't play Time Management Games, but I not only did the beta on this but played the SE AND the CE versions.  They were all.....fun.

The graphics were great.  You can see all the wood, bricks, water, etc.  I only wish they were a bit ...... larger ..... for those of us with older eyes - smile.  I can't comment on the music or sound fx as I kept them turned down.

There are NO difficulty choices.  I would have liked to see a "relaxed" mode because I play to "de-stress" and not BE stressed.

The gist of the game is the same old, same old.  Go around, getting jobs to clean up messes, pick up wood, rocks, seeds and water.  The only thing different is the storyline and that as you earn money, you build your dream home .... or wedding venue ..... I was never quite sure.

I enjoy "build it" type games but THIS game has gone as far as it can, IMO.  Find something different.  I don't want to be a worker bee forever.

For those who love this series, give it a try .... the story may be a bit different .... but the game play is same old .... same old.

ENJOY!

Overall Impression:  A lot more of the same old game in the series.  Definitely not for me but give it a try if you like this type of game.  It does seem to take a LOT of time to earn enough money to work on the wedding venue or dream home or whatever it is.  Re the CE????  I finished the demo with 42 minutes to spare and the only thing I could tell is there are more levels (?).  No thanks for me.

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Fill and Cross Pirate Riddles 2

Not the BEST game I've played in this genre ... but not the WORST either.

I LOVE these types of games!  I own an entire series offered by BFG (I can say it here - Fantasy Mosaics) and I own the BEST tutorial type game of this type also offered by BFG (again, I can say it here, Gemsweeper).

The graphics ..... hmmmm .... NOT the best.  It would have added more to the game if there were COLORS instead of just one color going on.  I can't comment on the music or sound fx because I generally keep it turned down.

This is the general type of fill and cross game.  Make a picture by filling in boxes using numbers.  Almost like Sudoku.

There are several things that would have made this game better.  For one, as I mentioned above, having several colors in a single picture.  For another, an option that will fill up the empty boxes once you fill up the ones that NEED filling.  Yes, that does make the game ..... harder.  But, that option would have been nice for those of us who don't want to constantly repeat, repeat, repeat until we get it right.

Even so, with these issues, this is a game that I would consider purchasing .... a fill and cross addict is a fill and cross addict - LMAO!

I encourage everyone who has experience with this type of game genre to give it a try.  This is NOT a game for beginners.

Will you join the Pirates with me or walk the plank?

ENJOY!

Overall Impression:  Not the Best like Fantasy Mosaics or Gemsweeper but also not hte worst I've ever played.  Give it a try and see what you think.  I'm on the fence about purchasing this, especially since Fantasy Mosaics JUST came out with a new one in THAT series.

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Good to see you back posting, Susan.  The M3 sounds too complicated for me, I tried one a couple weeks ago where you had to match food for the customer and it was just too much.  I think I have the whole Garden Inc, series but haven't played any of them yet(we really need an 'ashamed' smiley), I remember I demoed the first one and it reminded me of Royal Envoy so I've been buying them ever since.  I'm starting to build a nonogram collection but I really prefer the ones that autofill.  I did demo one of them that used different colors, I thought that was interesting but never decided if I prefered it or not, maybe I should buy that game.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Chamelion Gems

This is a typical "toss the marble from the shooter" game.  Never sure what to call these types of games - lol.

The graphics are good, although I had trouble with the moving conveyor of colored gems getting bigger, then smaller, then bigger and so on.  SIGH!  Can't comment on music and sound fx as I had the mute on.

There is no tutorial that I could see and this game definitely needs a tutorial.  Whether written or during the game play - it would have been a great feature.  Also, the "bonuses", if any were available otherwise, seemed to cost an awful lot of "money" you earn during the game.  But what you earn and when confounds me!  And, as far as I could tell, you could only use the bonuses you bought ...... once.

I was truly disappointed in this game.  IMO it was boring, very un-entertaining and I couldn't find a single thing that would have me going back for more.

So, NOT for beginners and I think those who enjoy this game genre will be totally disappointed.  But, try the hour demo and .....

ENJOY

Overall Impression:  A real sleeper!

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

They're usually called marble shooters or poppers.  I only own one, something with Evy in the title.  That one is kinda like an RPG, some colors hurt your opponent, others heal yourself or make your shot stronger.

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Lucky Luke:  Shoot and Hit (not on BFG)

I had the opportunity to play this game on another site besides BFG.  I was not impressed.  Apparently, it wasn't that impressed with itself because sound effects and music were "off" in options - lol.

So, the graphics were .... ok.  The sound ..... couldn't tell you as I was half-watching t.v. (sorry, it was a good show -    All you have to do is shoot the cans down ...... with none left standing ..... in each level.    Sounds fairly easy, doesn't it?  Unfortunately, it's definitely NOT easy at all as you level up and you level up pretty quickly.  So, the need to use your power ups or bonuses to  get past a level is extremely important.  Use thoses bonuses you get wisely, because the game changes as you go on.

For these reasons, and more, this won't be a purchase for me.  I wouldn't recommend it beginners either.  However, if you think you CAN get all those cans down, go for it!  Me?  I'll sit back and just watch the show!

ENJOY!

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Atlantic Quest Solitaire

I LOVE LOVE LOVE solitaire games.  But, a solitaire game won't hold my interest unless it contains a LOT of entertainment.  This game gives you entertainment in spades!  HAH!  I made a funny - lol lol lol.

The graphics are amazing!  The background will change to match whatever part of the story you are working on.  For instance, a sinking ship - OH NO!  Gotta go check it out!  The music is perfectly done without being monotonous.

The gist of the game is like any other hi/low solitaire game.  BUT, there is so much you can/have to do!  There are fish encased in bubbles that you can/have to free.  You can choose NOT to free them but, me?  No way, I had to free those fishies!  You not only earn bonus cards but you earn pearls while you play that you can use in the shop.  AND, there's a casino where you can try to earn more cash!

You can change the backs of the cards to many different colors/scenes.  There are 2 difficulty levels.  And, you can earn up to 3 gold stars per level.  You can go back and replay any level you want - if you want to.  lol  The first level is also your tutorial .... but those who don't need it can just click it to stop.

A great storyline, things you can/have to do during the game play, changing backgrounds, a casino, earning pearls, surprises during the game play and MORE!  But, don't think this is an easy game because it gets more and more difficult as you go along.  I had to replay one level so many times!  And I'm great at solitaire!  So much entertainment value in one little game?  Oh yeah!

For all these reasons and MORE MORE MORE, this game is a definite purchase for me.   Great for beginners and experts alike.  When the demo ended, I got my personal "wow" factor and knew I had to have it.

Come along and join me .... under the sea .... and have a blast playing this amazing solitaire game!

ENJOY!

Overall Impression:  If you love solitaire games, this one is a definite for you.  If you're a beginner, I don't think there's a better game to get you started playing this genre of game.  It's fun, entertaining and ...... more!  Play the demo ..... it will definitely be a good time for everyone.

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Conga Bugs

Marble Popper games can be fun, but this game has so much going on, and nothing really "complete" that it loses the massive entertainment potential it could have.

The graphics are ..... ok.  You're supposed to shoot (grab and place) the "bugs" in the "conga line" and make matches of 3 or more.  The problem I had was that it didn't seem to matter if there was only 1 "bug" or "portion" of a bug.  If I placed the correct color in that part of the conga line ..... it destroyed the bugs.  Very confusing.

I can't comment on music or sound fx because I had that all turned off (ear ache).

The storyline is cute as are the cartoon-like pictures that go along with it.  Basically, all the bugs (and more bugs than you can imagine) in your world (house, outside, etc.) get together at night and have a dancing party ..... because bugs like to dance.  Max, the main bug (?), tries to get them into a conga line to control them.  Thus, you have the "conveyor belt" type of moving line .... or the "conga line".

There are bonuses you can get during the game play, but I don't understand what some of them do.

I love marble popper games but this one was a real dud for me and I couldn't wait for it to end ...... it was THAT boring.

For these reasons, and more, I will not be purchasing this game.  I think it would be ok for beginners but anyone with more expertise would be completely bored and/or confused.

Overall Impression:

Re: DEMO REVIEWS - 2015

Hero of the Kingdom II

I've played this type of game before and grew to enjoy them so I added a few to my humungous list of games I'll never have time to play - lol.

The graphics of this game were ok.  Items you had to find were sometimes very, very, VERY tiny.  The sound and sound fx were nicely done .... nothing that I would call "special".

The gist of the game is that you and your sister have come across a man in the woods who has taken you both to his home in a village.  YOU are wandering around doing errands and quests for various villagers.  What your sister is doing is beyond me ..... but your hands are certainly full.

It's not always ..... okay, never ...... clear to me WHAT to do with the items you get on your quests/errands.  Even if you go back to the person who sent you ON the quest/errand, there doesn't seem to be a way to hand him what he asked you to get ... like a sack of flour, etc.

There is a merchant who will purchase items from you and you, in turn, can purchase items from him.  After my first purchase I had trouble with this again ..... although I DID have items to barter with.

Then your sister gets kidnapped by pirates and you get knocked out.  Upon re-awakening, what do you do????  Run another quest/errand.  WHAT ABOUT RESCUING YOUR SISTER?!?!?!?!?!?!

This is a s-l-o-w moving gaming that bored me almost instantly.  There were always things for me to do but I never seemed to sleep or rest.  I always had an incredibly large backpack that housed all the items I found for my quests/errands but how did I give any of them to the people who wanted me to hunt for them in the first place.

Mass confusion, very slow moving game and little in the way of entertainment leaves little doubt that this will not be a purchase for me.  I'm not even sure it would be good for beginners.

For those who try this game and like it .................

ENJOY!

Overall Impression:  Too much talking, too little activity that makes much sense .... and why isn't the sister being rescued?????
