Re: The Chat Lounge

Turned out I didn't hit the Submit button for my Crocs order and now what I wanted isn't on sale anymore.
We're getting internet next week, so that will be good.  It's Verizon Fios and pretty cheap, $30/mo for the first year, $40/mo for the second.  We decided not to get cable, we've got Netflix and Hulu.
Hubby got through his 12 hour shift, they got done a couple hours early so only 10 hours.  He's still liking it.
The washing machine lost it's rinse cycle, it just fills up with water and then drains it, no spinning, so the soap is just staying on the clothes.
I know there's a few STP songs I like but I can't remember them.  Sad.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Question: who has and who hasn't upgraded to Windows 10?  If no why?  and if yes how are you finding it?

Re: The Chat Lounge

oscar -- I haven't upgraded because I want to buy a new computer that will have Win 10 on it.  The computer I have now runs Vista and is about 6 years old.  I want to keep it for some of my older BFG games that won't run on Win 7, let alone Win 10.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I prefer to wait.  I was forced to move on to Win 8 when I bought my lap top, and I don't like all the pressure that Microsoft is putting on me to upgrade.  Sheesh, it's stressful enough around the holidays, I don't need to add to the stress with needing to learn yet another operating system.

Win10 is being touted as similar to Win7.  Well, I had to use a Win7 computer for a couple of days last year after getting comfortable with Win8 and it felt awkward.  I'm hoping I can stay with what I've got and not make any switch until I have to get a new laptop.  And by that time, MS will have decided that WinWhatever is better than Win10.

Re: The Chat Lounge

oscar, I did and liked it pretty much until I tried to play a couple of my older games from our challenge and they wouldn't run.  I was almost to the end of my 30 days so decided to revert back to my Win 7 and the games played just fine.  As you all know, I have lots of unplayed older games so it was not worth it to me to upgrade right now.  I love my Win 7 and like lilyr, I will most likely get a new computer in a couple of years or so (mine's only 3 yrs old) and it will have it on it and I will keep my Win 7 for games that will not play on Win 10.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I can't do it until I get real internet, don't want that download to go against my data allowance, lol.  I have Win8 and I don't like t he tiles and going into the corner to try to get back to my desktop.  I only play games and browse the internet so everything else is just lost on me.
Hubby is done with his first week and is still really liking his new job.  I'm enjoying sending him off to work and greeting him when he comes home.  He always has me make the same couple of meals over and over again, but there's free food at work, since it's a banquet hall, so he's eating there a lot, and if there's enough he can bring stuff home.  He brought home some stuffed chicken breasts one night that were really good.  He worked Sunday brunch so he had a huge plate of breakfast, way more than he would ever eat at home.  If he's eating at work 4 nights a week and bringing home some leftovers for me and our dogs, our food budget will be a lot lower.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I have Windows 10 on my new laptop and I like it more than Windows 8.1 which was on it when I first got it, it was very near the release of Win10 and it was already prepared for the upgrade.
Some of my oldest games (like my all time favorite: Mystery Legends: The Phantom of the Opera) I can´t play anymore , luckily I have my very old laptop with Vista still running, but it takes over 5 minutes to get it started!

On the other hand, some of my games that didn´t play on Win8.1, like Puzzle Quest 2, now runs like clockwork!

Re: The Chat Lounge

Hubby had the last two days off and it was back to work today, which will also be payday.  His boss texted him that he did so well she paid him $11/hr instead of 10.  How freaking awesome is that?.  A retroactive, unasked for raise your first week of work.  I've always said he was a great worker when he wanted to work.  And he really likes this job, there's co-workers but not that have anything to do with his job, and no room for advancement, lol.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Thanks for the input everyone. I think I'll leave well enough alone for now.

Oh and Sun, can I just say your bombs look the bomb!  Exactly what I want to make.  I need to find someplace that sells the necessary ingredients.
