Re: The Chat Lounge

Oscar, thank goodness you decided to have your bathroom done when you did because it sounds like it could have really been bad if that had gone untreated.  Does anybody ever get through a remodel without some delays??  Glad Milo is home and hopefully Tank will be a good big brother.

Wendy, sorry to hear about your sister.  Is she the one who came to visit you right after you moved into your new RV park?  That would be nice if you all could spend some time together during your down time.

Just got home from my 50th H.S. class reunion (I'm old!) this weekend and it was a big success.  We have always had a tight knit class and probably had around 200 or so, including spouses out of a class of about 500 and have lost probably 90 or so.  I even got to see a guy I dated in my junior year who had not come to any of the past reunions and that was special.  We had both changed a lot (put on a few pounds) which I think surprised us since he was a state champ tennis player and I was always into swimming but it was so nice to see him.  At breakfast, some of us were talking this morning about how there is always one special moment that stands out in these reunions and after they honored all our veterans (Vietnam War), one of our classmates (Larry) who is kinda shy got up to say a few words about the guy (Ray) who got the ball rolling to recognize these veterans.  Come to find out when they met a few years later and were comparing notes, it turns out Larry realized that Ray was in a unit that had saved Larry and some of his fellow Marines after an ambush.  Larry got a little choked up as he was telling everyone and I think it touched us all in a way we will never forget.

Re: The Chat Lounge

tee -- You're not THAT old!  My 50th HS reunion is this year too.  I kept meaning to call but never got around to it.  I've probably missed it.  That's a very moving story about Ray and Larry.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Glad it was a success.  I am always amazed at what a small world we live in when I hear stories like that.  And yup thank goodness!

Milo is well, but will no longer be known as Milo.  I'm changing his name.  While I think it is so cute I've found it sounds to much like no and I don't want the confusion in training.  It's back to the drawing board for a name.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to share a bit of news!

            CONGRATS FREYA

That's right!  My FREYA is receiving her lifetime registry as my SERVICE/EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOG!

Not only does she help me emotionally, but she also lets me know when I need to take meds in the event of a full-blown anxiety attack!  I happen to live between 2 women who are bent on destroying me with anxiety.

I would do anything to protect my Freya from all the bitches (I mean witches) in this world.  I love her more than anything!

         YAY FREYA

        Mommy Loves you Sooooo Much!

Re: The Chat Lounge

teeitup...That's nice that you had a good time at your reunion and saw an old boyfriend.  What a nice story about Ray & Larry.

oscar...Any luck finding a new name yet?  Does observing his personality give you any help?

Freyasmom...Give Freyas a pat on the head from me.  What a good dog and she must be such a comfort to you.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Sun - he is officially Eddie Bear.  Or just Eddie.  I'll post a picture of him when I'm on my computer later.  He is a sweet little guy.  Last night he woke me at 5 to go out and then we got up at 8:30! Nice.  Workers weren't coming today until later.  Lots of drywall mud to dry.

I did pick a new counter, I'll post that later, one I know Wendy and Lily will approve!  Lol. It looks much much better.  A little more expensive, but oh well.

That's nice for Freya. I think it's wonderful that are pets can be a support in this way.  I mean really how can you be distressed hugging a dog! Question do you not realize when you are having an anxiety attack?  And what sort of housing are you in, maybe build a moat keep the nosy neighbours out. Not sure if you are in an apt, condo, house etc. just ignore them they'll get tired of not getting a rise out of you and go away.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Freyasmom --   Congrats to Freya for getting her certification but more importantly for being such a wonderful (and necessary) help to you!

oscar -- At least Eddie woke you up to go out!  Even if the counter is more expensive it's in the bathroom, not the kitchen.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Eddie Bear, I absolutely love it!
Freyasmom, I'm so happy you seem to be in a much better frame of mind.
Can't wait to see the new countertop.
My mother-in-law passed away this weekend.  She was only three years older than me.  My husband has had a rough time of it, within the last couple of years he's lost both his parents, both his stepparents and his stepbrother.  Losing his mom seems to be hitting him hard, hopefully it will make him a bit better person.  It sucks cause we just don't have the money and/or dogsitter for him to get back  home.  His one sister is holding some kind of grudge against him, anyway, so it's probably for the best if he doesn't show up, although maybe they would have ended up kissing and making up.  I'm vaguely in the area but I'd have to miss work and drive my work van, which gets about 5 mpg, and I just can't afford it.  I've only been there once, anyway, so don't really know anyone.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Wendy, sorry to hear about your MIL.  It's tough when you can't be there to pay your respects but she's in a better place, whole again.
