Re: The Chat Lounge

Ask Mum if she would feel the same way if it was the other way around and she was caring for you.  Would she think it a burden or would she consider it some extra time with you that God had blessed her with?

Let's see, do you want a totally new doggie name or do you want to associate it with Tank or Winston.  Salem springs to my mind, lol.  Tank and Tiny?

Re: The Chat Lounge

Nope doesn't need to relate at all. For two of my dogs the names just came on a ride home with them.  Winston I knew before I even got him, and it suited.  Now Tank poor fella was called several different things.  Perhaps it speaks volumes that we couldn't agree.  I wanted to call him Gus.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Maybe Gussie for the new girl, then?  Or Winnie.  I've never picked a people name for my animals.  I've had Princess, Fluffy, Mousecat, Snoop Dog, Skunky, Buddy, Lucky, names like that.  If you want to copy Tirama, though, I like Tank and Tiffany, sounds so cute.  And sometimes they name themselves, too.  I think a new puppy is the best way to start to heal the hurt.

Re: The Chat Lounge

I like the people names too.  My rottie was Jasper.  But I'm getting a male so Tiffany is out, lol.  Hopefully anyways, she might have all girls.  I am leaning towards Bear though.  But we'll see, he just might not be a Bear. Little Bear just keeps popping in to my head.

Re: The Chat Lounge

Daisy and Duke is really cute.
Don't know why I had it in my head that it would be a girl puppy, guess cause you said the sister was preggers and sister just stuck in my mind.  Bear is good for a big dog like that.  Friends just stopped by with their baby Chihuahua, now I want another one, lol.

Re: The Chat Lounge

It's finally cooled down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March was the hottest first month of autumn (fall) on record and the driest in 10 years!  We reached 38 C (100 F) on more than one occasion and were mostly in the late 20s, early 30s (late 80s, early 90s) ... in autumn ... with sun, sun, sun!!!!

And that was here on the coast, where Mum lives on the beach.  Further out west in the western suburbs, where the rest of the family live, was way hotter!!!!

But finally it's cooled way down.  Thursday was another day in the early 30s C (early 90s) without a breath of wind, lots of sun, and really high humidity - I was so sick as I can't handle the heat with my illness, which is one of the reasons I now live in northern Germany - but thankfully yesterday was 12 degrees cooler with howling winds and rain!

I love the cold and wind but not the constant rain.

But it sure beats Thursday's weather!

Re: The Chat Lounge

I'm glad it's cooler stusue.  I detest heat and humidity too.  Someone on another board (in Canberra?) said they had some summer days where it reached 44 C!

Lily, just after I got here (after leaving the snow and winter in Germany) we had 48 C (about 120 F) here in Sydney.  The hottest I know of in Sydney, although I've never experienced it myself, is 52 C (about 126 F).

Now I just want the rain to stop...
