Re: Finish your games challenge

meg -- I started a Comment thread in the new ERS game.  My comment was something to the effect that if we didn't buy clothes for our fairy would she end the game in rags? If so I'd buy in a heartbeat!  I was good and passed the sale too.  There are a couple of CEs that I want but I do have quite a few PCCs for SEs.

misscatlady -- Having lived through the disaster of BFG's FTP MMOG FAUNASPHERE and the online gaming community BIG SEA  I wonder too.  I'm thinking that your bad feeling is more about our downloaded PC/MAC games.

I saw a partial discussion on another site about whether there would be any legal consequences if a minor started playing one of the FTP games (esp Casino games), "borrowed" a credit card and bought a ton of chips or whatever.  Or even if the parent had an existing account and the minor clicked "buy"  and the charges went to the credit card.  I'm sure the BFG lawyers think they have that covered but one wonders about the public outrage  "seducing" a minor to gamble might engender.

ETA:  Very interesting!  I went back to check on my comment in the ERS game.  It has disappeared!  It still shows in my "My Posts"  though.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Hi, dex, glad you made it here.

Speaking of here, our forum is now one month old.  We've certainly grown from the one thread we needed to find a home for.

I'm playing Joining Hands.  There are 10 episodes, and each episode has 18 levels (exceptions, the first has 6, and the second has 12) for a total of 108 levels.  In addition to ompleting the levels, you can earn stars for completing the level and placing on eof the little critters on the specific star spaces.  It's untimed.

During the demo, I made it to somewhere in the 5 episode, earning all the stars u to that point, and figured, although the levels had been getting difficlt, I'd still be able to finish the game in one sitting if I'd like, no problem.

Wrong!  Things got tougher immediately and I've missed some stars in eorisodes 5, 6, and 8 and I'm stuck in Episode 9 on level 14  (and I've only earned half of the stars available in that epsiode.   This game will really give my mind a workout.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Lilyr - yeah that basically my worry. That they won't keep giving us pay for games and then they won't let us keep the games we already bought.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I also don't like this trend of Free-to-Play games and don't even bother downloading them.  The ones I've tried I found really boring - just boring straight HOGs - and don't even want to play them, let alone spend money upgrading them!

This is part of an earlier post of mine in the Business Decisions thread re BFG Casino...

I just came across this comment posted on the BFG Blog on 1 September.  I don't know about you guys but I find it quite disturbing [and distasteful]...

Family Friendly bfg? some user names at bfg casino..dirtybasterd. iluvwhitegirls, and a homage to drugs,,, lsd,, some images people use for thier profile,, soluudh, s is a drawing of a naked couple having sex against a tree, badgirls is a b utt in a thong...i saw another of a guy smoking a bong....

its amazing how heavily modded ccc was,, when it seems anything goes at bfg, s casino.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Hi Dex  We've never actually met but lots of big hugs, hoping things continue to improve for you in RL.

WOW!  One month already?  Where's the party?

Tirama, good luck with Joining Hands!  I've got the first one but haven't done much more than the demo since I bought it.

lilyr, your post DISAPPEARED?  Well, that's just rude!

For those who are interested, this is the link to an interview GameZebo did with Artifex Mundi about "Crafting a Substantial Sequel - Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call".  I found it really interesting.

Re: Finish your games challenge

And I'd like to thank all of you who suggested BeTrapped!  I've just finished it and LOVED it!    But then, I LOVE Minesweeper and used to play it for hours on end, to the point that I no longer have to think much when I do it; I do a lot of it automatically.  But with the added murder mystery and having to work out whodunit it was great!    Now I'm doing the levels in the hardest mode ... I think it's called Deadly(?).

And last night I FINALLY managed to get the last achievement in Heroes of the Past: Joan of Arc!!!!!    The achievement for completing a level in under a minute.  I wasn't trying to get that last achievement as I doubted I'd ever manage it but after I'd done one level it just popped up saying I'd got that achievement!    You could have knocked me down with a feather I was so surprised.    I don't know how many times I've replayed each of the 100 levels but it's a great game to play whilst watching TV.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Stusue,  I loved  Betrapped  after I finally got into it.  (Never dared the "deadly" version,  though.)  My left brain hardly works at all,  so I felt it was a major achievement to complete the game.  Then,  I hauled out
A Series of Unfortunate Events,  which I'd never even figured out, and finished that!  Whoopee!  (I absolutely loved the book series!)

Re: Finish your games challenge

stusue -- Congrats on that achievement.

I tried BETRAPPED but I suck at Minesweeper.

Well my comment reappeared on the Forum!  And it has a reply from a sweet little guppy who totally missed my point!

Thanks for the link.  I haven't tried that game yet, but it's on my list for the next CE BOGO sale.

In Joining Hands,I've got all the levels and all the stars for episodes 1-8.  I've completed all 18 levels in episode 9, but missed 4 stars.  In episode 10, I've completed 10 levles and have all the stars for those levels.  I'm going to take a break and work on Jigsaws Galore.  Maybe when I come back to Joining Hands, I'll spot something I didn't see before.
