Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished Nearwood  main game and bonus. Both were really long and very good.  I only found 108 of the snoop-sees.

Yesterday I just got the Christmas Carol CE game.  Would have got more if a BOGO sale.

I missed all the action in the forums yesterday.

stusue  I checked my email and did not receive a code for Christmas.  I did find a December fun pass code good for 1 SE game expires mid January.  This isn't the one you meant, is it?

Re: Finish your games challenge

The soft release for today is getting good mentions.  It's a dark demonic HOPA.  DARK ANGELS something something. (can't remember ).

nilosh has moved over to ProBoards.

I've read about all of you saving "dessert" games to play.  I was trying to find a game to play and decided I'd play one of my "dessert" games -- GARDENSCAPES2.  It seems harder than the others.  And Austin seems either ill or very worried about something.  I'm not that far into it.  I've only taken one photograph but other photos appear in my album.  I am enjoying it.

Darn it! I completely forgot about DARK ANGEL!  Well here's hoping BFG will get it.

lilyr, if you remember back a wee bit Dark Angels is the game that you forgot about and missed at Legacy for $2.95.    But your wish has been granted and now it's on BFG!    I played it on GameHouse when it was released there and loved it!    You just have to have enough patience to get out of the office at the beginning of the game (which is really lame) but then, once out, the game just gets better and better!

I've just finished Christmas Stories: The Nutcracker CE and loved it!  It's not in my top 3 games, probably not even in the top 5, but I loved it.  I also loved the bonus.  Not only because it was long or because of the minigames or gameplay, etc, but because of the way they brought up cats from other stories, like Puss-in-Boots.  I thought that rather clever and also funny.

I've also just demoed the latest Redemption Cemetery.  And wow, when they say no black bar tips, they really mean it!  There ain't any!  Nothing!  Rien!  Nada!  Nichts!  So for the demo I had to keep hitting the Hint button and using the SG just to work out what to do next as I didn't want to waste time for the hour.  I don't know about the CE as you don't have to find the collectibles; they just appear when you move things, etc. and there's no fun in that.  However, I quite liked what you did with them.  I don't think it's worth double the price, though, unless I find out that the bonus chapter is great and really long.

Hey, sunny sunshinej, did you miss the ones in the scenes that had 4 of them?  Those ones were really hard to spot!    But only having missed 3 you can still read all bar the last page of the Snoop-Sees' story in the book, which explains a lot about Nearwood and its history and the statues, etc.  I found that really interesting and made finding the collectibles much more fun as you were collecting them for a reason and not just to get an achievement.

I'm still holding out for a BOGOF.  I'm still not sure about the SE or CE for A Christmas Carol, though.  Hopefully you'll play it now - well, it is sorta still Christmas - and will be able to tell me if you think the bonus chapter is long enough and interesting enough to warrant double the price.  Pwetty pwease?  With sugar on top?

Bummer, sunshinej, I put the code in my posts if you noticed - which obviously you didn't - so that you could try it and see if it worked for you.    I must have made it too unobtrusive.  Sorry.  I wonder why I got it and not you?    I suppose you could still try it - xmaspresent.  You never know, GameHouse could be like BFG and have codes working for another day.  And no, I didn't mean your December FunPass code.  Just make sure you use it before you get the next one - so before the 15th - as otherwise you'll lose it.  I got an email today for a code for 25% off my next purchase after my last purchase, valid for one week.  That's normal for GH.

Re: Finish your games challenge

stusue, what did you think about Redemption Cemetary. I really like the series because the game is broken up into sections by where you go, like separate little stories. Is this one like that also. Some of the reviews said it wasn't like the others. Do you know what they meant by that?

Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished Death at Cape Porto: A Dana Knightstone Novel Collector’s Edition.  I played a chapter, then I checked on the free to play games, played another chapter, played some Sudoku Latin Squares, etc.

I'm going to play Farmington Tales 2: Winter Crop next.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I just finished Christmas Stories: A Chrismas Carol.  It is a wonderful game with  gorgeous graphics.  The HOS were a little cluttered but beautiful to look at, some items a little small.  I found it to be a very long game for a SE so I'm satisfied and don't miss the CE which involves finding morphing penguins. The cats from the Nutcracker game are in this game so I'm glad I played that one already.  Next HOPA on the play schedule is Calavera: Day of the Dead CE.

I also finished Island Tribe 4 a few days' ago.  Had fun with it.  Next TM I'm playing is Rush For Gold: Alaska...long overdue.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I just finished Fierce Tales-Marcus' Memory CE and I LOVED it. I gave it 5 stars. It kept my interest throughout the whole game. I loved the story and I love blam! games because even though it was a same old story aka love triangle, they made it feel fresh and new. I loved the dolphin and all the collectibles were a treat! I actually found all of them too  I definitely recommend this one and the first one. This series is superb!

I am now going to play some older games. I am in the process of buying memory so I will have enough to upgrade to the new operating system for mac. However, after reading reviews and what not, it occured to me, that some of my older games might not play on that platform. Therefore I need to start playing the oldies but goodies. Developers still in the business have released patches but some old developers leave their games as is....I need to make a list and play those games but until I do that, some of these large file games need played...

I've given up on the spider levels in The Tiny Tale as they are impossible. I might look up a youtube video on how to do it but since Im almost done with that area, I think i'll just let it be.

Re: Finish your games challenge

stusue - I played the CE for The Christmas Carol - the main game was really long. The bonus chapter was a some what seperate story involving the secret lifes of cats. It was really cute. Rather long IMO. Definitely worth the CE price in my opinion even if you're not fond of the morphing penguins.
