Re: Finish your games challenge

My dad was thirteen years older than my mom and she was forty when she had me.  Dad died when I was nineteen and mom died in 97, I've been an orphan for quite awhile.  I have two sisters but they are sixteen and nineteen years older than me, the younger one turns seventy soon.  I haven't been home since mom died.  I miss them but they're a thousand miles away in small towns that take really expensive plane tickets to get to.  Never any sales on plane tickets going anywhere near them.  I've thought about asking the one with a home in the country about spending winters with her, but then I'd be cold.  You do get used to it though.  If it's in the sixties in Florida it feels very cold here under the trees.
I didn't get to play Awakenings very long this morning.  My energy bar is high enough and refills so slowly (5 minutes per unit compared to 3 minutes in Farm Up) that it was only two thirds refilled this morning, only got to do 3 HOs and I didn't get to level up. I'll have to start buying energy with in-game money, I guess.  I did one puzzle in Black Water last night and hubby woke up and I couldn't play anymore.  I'm almost finished, the bonus is supposed to be good.
The Members code still works this morning if anyone is interested in Hidden Expedition.  I don't really like that series, they're too hard for me or something

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Wendy - did you win your jewel egg?  If not, I have extras and can auction one, once I get to the level that opens that for me.

I'm about half done with Ancient Mosaic.  It has 3 modes: adventure, strategy, and classic.  I'm playing strategy.  I don't think I'll bother replaying in the other modes, they stress me out too much.

Barre - I was going to play Tales of Lagoona 2: Peril at Poseidon Park instead of Ancient Mosaic, but there's so much going on in each HO scene, I didn't think it would be a good mix with the other games I'm working on right now.  But I'm looking forward to that one, and the new Farmington Tales.

I finished all the hard levels on Sudoku Latin Squares.  On the expert levels you don't get any hints, so once I get stuck, I'm going to call the game done.  I've played almost 1600 boards, so I've gotten my money's worth.

Hoping for a CE BOGO this weekend so I can get the Christmas CE before Christmas.  Don't want to spend $$$ for it when I still have some GCC's.  And I'm so close to making it through the year without spending any $$$ other than for my monthly membership.

Tirama, if you still want to swap a pcc, I'll swap a January one with you.  Just send me a pm.

Wendy, I tried getting the HE game with the Members code and it doesn't work anymore.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I just tried the code MEMBERS and it worked for me, although I didn't actually buy the game.

Do want to get a couple of SE's I've read you all talking about.

Thanks, sunshine and Tirama ~ I do value my time with them as they are both 89 and I know I am luckier than most.

Tee. what SEs do you want to get?    Don't worry, I know all about curiosity and the cat...

I also realise how lucky I am.  My dad died years ago but my mum - also 89 - is still alive and kicking.  But we've also been through a lot with her this past month.  She's been really sick and thought her cancer had returned.  However, after 2 hospital stays, an MRI, a full-body CT scan, heaps of blood tests, etc, they cleared her of any more cancer (although they have to keep an eye on a spot on her lung) but didn't know what was making her so dizzy and sick.  They eventually decided she should see the Head of Neurology that she saw earlier this year about her vertigo.  Luckily he lives just around the corner from her and so makes house calls - and doesn't charge her anything!  This morning he turned up at her door before breakfast on his way to the beach to go swimming (my mum lives on the beach and he goes swimming right in front of her place every morning), only wearing his tiny little swimming costume.    But at least he's confirmed that it's just a different sort of vertigo, so my mum feels confident enough to start driving herself around again.  She lives on her own, with no help, and only gave up work last year, at 88, after having a mastectomy when she found out she had breast cancer.  In a few weeks she's off for a cruise circumnavigating Australia on the QEII.  So I also realise how lucky I am to have my mum still around.  Except my mum wants me back home in Sydney permanently...

Wow, wtg for your mom ~ that's amazing that she's getting to go on a cruise and just quit work.  My dad's mom lived to 101-1/2 and was in pretty good health up til the end.  We had a 99th and 100th birthday party for her ~ got a five generation pic on the 100th which I will always treasure.

Went ahead and got Spooky Bonus and the latest Lagoona ~ such a sucker for good M3's.  Lovin' Spooky Bonus ~ so hard to quit.

Tee, I am sorry about your folks. I'm glad you all had a good time at the party.  I can relate in some sense.  My father has been recently diagnosed with a cognitive impairment.  Pretty much early stages of dementia.  I don't live very close to them which is unfortunate but I try to get there as much as I can.  Can I ask if your mom had any sort of surgery or injury that was a precursor to the dementia?  It seems to be a recurring thing that comes up when I talk to people. My dad had a hernia op that led to a blood clot and seemed to really go downhill after.  He is only 74. My grandpa, touch wood, is in much better physical and mental health at 94.  Dad seems to be really failing and getting depressed imo.

You know, she did have a hernia operation, not sure when and in the last two years, developed a bulge in the breast bone area but the dr. said that was probably from the previous incision and we would just watch it.  She had a blood clot in her left leg a year ago Sept. but that could have been from her sitting and not getting around as much.  She has skin cancer, problems with her circulation and the dementia just has contributed to her body starting to give out.  Thanks for all the kind thoughts.
