Re: Finish your games challenge

barregar - if you need to borrow a pcc, give a shout.  I have 3 expiring this month and I only need to use 1 of them to complete a card, so wouldn't mind trading the other 2.

You mentioned a game that was recently released as possibly a good game for a group play.  Can you remember the title?

I just finished my 100th game of Scrabble with 100 wins and 0 losses.  I'm going to call this game done and start my replay of Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek Collector's Edition tonight.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Tira, if I decide to start a new card next Monday, I will trade 2 January pccs for your Dec. ones.  Will let you know.  It depends on the expiry dates of your Dec. pccs.

It wasn't me who mentioned the game for a group play.  However I believe the game was Grimville: the Gift of Darkness.  I didn't get it.

Wow, your Scrabble wins are impressive...Congrats!!  I would be interested in your comments on Enigmatis: Mists of Ravenwood because I did not get that one.

The pcc's expire on the 20th (needs to be used next Monday to get bonus punches), the 27th and the 29th (need to be used the 23rd for bonus punches)

I played Scrabble on the normal setting.  The difference between normal and hard was astronomical.  (There's also an easy setting).  I started one game on hard and after playing 5 words, I didn't recognize a single word the computer played!  Decided that wouldn't be much fun so cancelled that game.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I spent a lot of time rearranging my farm on Farm Up yesterday and today and it's so pretty now.  There's some red gnomes that look like Santa Claus so I bought a bunch and they're scattered all over.  I made a grove of lemon trees with a fountain surrounded by Italian ground tile that matches the water in the fountain with a gazebo, bench, and table nearby; I just imagine I'm in Greece or Italy  I'll just sit and stare at it and totally space out

I have Island Tribe 3 but haven't played it yet.

The last several years we have had a BOGO in late December.  I have a January PCC, I'm planning on getting the Scrooge game; I don't know if I will rejoin for a BOGO, so I will have to start a list and see what I really want.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge

In 2011, we had a 1/2 price CE sale on Dec 24-26, which was Sat, Sun, Mon.  (I can tell by looking at my purchase history - each CE was a separate order.)

In 2012, there was a CE BOGO (don't know about SE's) and it started on Friday the 21st.  I don't know how long it lasted, I was done shopping on the 22nd.

Christmas is on Wednesday this year.  It would be nice if the CE BOGO included Monday the 23rd.  Extra punches and I could get the Christmas Carol CE and play it before Easter.

Re: Finish your games challenge

Gosh!  Everyone is finishing lots of games!

sunshinej -- I just finished HOLIDAY BONUS  GOLD (same DEV as SPOOKY BONUS) and I liked it.  Untimed M3.  50 levels and another 55 in the bonus.  It might be too "sweet" for DH.  BFG has it but just lists it as HOLIDAY BONUS.  I loved BIG KAHUNA REEF 2 and played it a gazillion times!  Both are untimed M3s.  BKR has lots of levels and some are not easy.  I think you can play 3 different ways too

Wendy -- I love the little tree in your pic under your name!

I want a colorful, fun, easy HOPA.  I'll have to troll my purchase history.  I'm sure i have a few.

I WILL finish FAIRWAY TEE TO PLAY without spending any money.  You just have to keep going back and replaying courses to get enough golf bucks to buy the bonus games.  I'm about 1/2 through the bonus games.  I'm also playing until get 3 stars on each course.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I just finished Living Legends: Frozen Beauty CE.  It was a nice game with lots of locations.  The bad thing is I missed 1 coin and therefore did not get the achievement for fully decorating the pet squirrel's home...drats.  Sometimes I think I shouldn't get the CEs because when I can't get all the achievements I feel as if I have failed.

Next up is Legends of the East: The Cobra's Eye.

Re: Finish your games challenge

I finished the normal portion of World Riddles Seven Wonders and now I'm working on the bonus levels.  Its to get extra points by getting as many boards done in a certain amount of time.  They are not as much fun with that extra pressure.

I also started the new Dana Knightstone game and sadly I felt a little bored.  There are achievements for completing each chapter under 30 minutes so I think that says something right off and an achievement to complete the game in under 3 hours.  Finally an achievement for getting all achievements.  I decided the hell with the achievements I'm not rushing thru again for that.  Needless to say I played 2 chapters and finished both under 30 minutes. None of the puzzles I came across were head scratchers.  A couple of irritating ones, like flip all the tiles to be the same colour.  The main man in the game reminds me of the actor who plays Hannibal on the TV series.  I don't watch but he creeps me out in the commercials. Only two chapters in and I am disappointed.

Oscar, I only lasted about 20 mins of the demo and couldn't go any further I was so bored so it was an automatic no buy for me, CE or SE.

Barre, WTG you!    Another one hits the dust (sung, of course, but lucky you can't hear me from there!).    Just finishing the game is a fantastic achievement, especially amongst our group!!!!    And you're especially a WINNER in my eyes because you manage to play soooooooooo many more games and have soooooooooo fewer unplayed games than I.    What's one lousy coin, anyway, that was probably hidden too well so as just to frustrate all the players?    And I have both games, Living Legends: Frozen Beauty CE and Legends of the East: The Cobra's Eye but haven't played either.  So I'm the failure.

One of the big selling points for me to get a CE instead of waiting for the SE used to be achievements but not anymore.  I'd rather not have achievements as I don't want to be pressured to get them, especially when they're illogical ones, like skipping 5 minigames (who wants to skip them?), or purely gameplay ones for things you have to do/get in the game anyway (boring)!  Now it's purely a loooooong, interesting bonus chapter that isn't needed to complete the game (I refuse to support a dev who does that), as well as difficult-to-find but interesting and different morphs/collectibles where there are more than just one to find per scene, like in Nearwood, or all in different forms, like in League of Light: Dark Omens, where the owls could be an actual owl, or in a painting, or part of a sculpture.  Those I find really interesting and so get the CE but, of course, I must also really love the gameplay and it must have a good bonus chapter.

Good luck with Legends of the East: The Cobra's Eye
