Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I have both Natural Threat games and have not played them yet.  I got these at BFG using  pccs then later on when I bought a pc Mystery Masters game cd they were included on it.  Pffft...If I would have just waited I could of have used those pccs on other games.  It wasn't like I played them right away anyways.

I am in the middle of Graven: The Purple Moon Prophecy.  It only comes as a SE and is a good game to use up a pcc.  It comes with 2 collectibles to find (not easy) and achievements.  Right now I am stuck.  I just have one item in my inventory (a ancient key) and running around in circles for a place to use it. It doesn't have many HO scenes (I just had a few so far) It plays more like a adventure game.

The TGT looks pretty good.  Spirit of Revenge: Elizabeth's Secret.  I'll wait for the SE, even though the HUGE code works today, as the game has lots of tech problems so far.

Was there a recent game by Vast lately?  I thought that there was.

Tirama...I hope that the pain is gone today or not as bad.

Nevermind, I found it.  Forgotten Kingdoms: The Ruby Ring

I just added Jolly Bear Games to the Developers List of Games.

I keep up on this more for me, but if it helps someone else out.  Then that's good too.

I thought Spirit of Revenge looked good too but I was put off by all the tech problems.  I can wait.

I can wait too.  Up to 5 pages now which is even more than the last time I looked.  I just read a review saying those who get the SE will be disappointed in the ending.

I got past that part in Graven.  It took me awhile as I am trying to play this without using hints.   I missed picking up a piece of chalk that I didn't see before.  Now I am in chapter 5 and still recommend the game.

Tomorrow or Sunday I agreed to play the Awakening series group play. What is nice is that we are not going to move on to the next game until everyone is finished with each game.  So no rushing.

I am looking forward to this as I wanted to start the series from the beginning and  get a better understanding of the main characters in Tirama's story.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Finished the bonus of Cursed Fates: Headless Horseman.  I liked the main game, the bonus game wasn't very good.  Only a few scenes.  Not worth a CE pricetag.  I'm also playing Nordic  Storm Solitaire and Avalon Legends 2 Solitaire along with a couple of M3s and a couple of TMs, depending on if I can activate Funpass with my internet.  I don't think I will have internet next week, way up in the Catskills, but we didn't used to have cell service there and it's improving every year.  A stream runs right next to the lot so we spend a lot of time in the water.  I'm too chicken to go off the rope swing but I like to cheer 'em on.  When I had Kelso there, he loves to swim, he would go out in the current just to swim in place, he'd do it for twenty minutes..  And when the people jumped off the swing he would swim over and bark his head off at them.   He's just crazy about water.  Except for baths, of course.  It's raining us out tonight but we're still opening, there's fireworks tonight and they're hoping the worst will pass by in another hour or two.  They really want us to stay tomorrow, I wish we would but I doubt it.  They hire truckers to move the stuff and I don't know if they can be rescheduled or not.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I was playing Brownies with Funpass, it's a TM road clearing type game.  I wasn't loving it, but I was playing it and then they stuck in a raccoon that digs up the road and makes holes.  A lot of holes.  You have to click on him to get rid of him.  A lot of cllicks.  And then he comes back again.  I don't friggin' think so.  You can take your Brownies and .....  Why do devs think that it's such a great idea to put raccoons, or lightning, or fires, into these games?  Instant turn-off for me.

We've had thunder, lightning and rain in the afternoon/evening for 4 days on a row.  Tiffany is not a happy camper.  Haven't been able to play much of anything except for ART.  Been spending my time trying to get all the cities and mini-games to guru level.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I got a bit of time off yesterday and so, as both Oscar and Wendy said that they didn't like Forest Legends, I decided to play that game.  And, unlike them, I loved it!

What I loved about it :

  -  the length - almost 6 hours
  -  most of the MGs were thinking ones - I even skipped the very last one as it was taking too long
  -  lots of turning circles/moving things when moving one affected others
  -  the gameplay
  -  the graphics/animation - I loved the very real looking water!
  -  music/ambient sounds
  -  V/O - not bad with lots of emotion (except the mermaid - put-on, high-pitched, breathy voice - ugh)
  -  interesting story
  -  pure adventure, no HOPs at all - sorry, in one scene you have to find 10 certain flowers
  -  HINT - took you to the correct interaction in the correct scene without having to click numerous times
  -  loved the really cute little dragon hint helper
  -  loved the option of finding little floating yellow lights in some scenes to recharge your dragon hint
  -  MAP - beautiful sepia drawing of the area - choice of showing locations and routes between or not - original!
  -  finding 70 journal entries - lots of reading which added depth to the game
  -  loved that the journal notes were read out to you by your character - and you could pause it - original!
  -  loved that there were so many things to click on in each scene
  -  sometimes something would simply fly away (bird) or smile (statues), for example
  -  sometimes you got some background info, eg. when you picked up a photo or clicked on a keepsake
  -  sometimes you interacted with an object, eg. you eat an apple
  -  loved that there was so much to do in each scene
  -  and it had PERFECT one-touch on my touchscreen!!!!  Yay!!!!  Why can't all the newer games have that?

The only negative thing I can think of is that the only character with lip syncing was the mermaid with the awful V/O!  I found that weird.  Oh, I also wish that you could somehow replay all the MGs - even the CE didn't have that - but I'd love to replay some of them, especially the last one that I eventually skipped as it was taking too long to get those last 2 pieces somehow swapped and I'd already overrun my time off.

So I had a great time playing Forest Legends: The Call of Love yesterday.  It was long, especially given that there were no HOPs to add time, with pure adventure and lots of MGs, which, apart from a few really simple ones, were mostly ones that took a bit of thought, especially all those circle-turning ones.

I can definitely recommend it, even though I doubt Oscar and Wendy would.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I can't really pinpoint what exactly disliked so much about the game.  I have my little trashed list and I'll try them all again at some later day just in case it was a mood thing as well.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

Glad you enjoyed it, Lily, I think it was the girl's voice that put me off more than anything.
One of my friends that gives me codes messaged me the other day complaining about BFG Customer Service.  She had let a couple codes expire and they wouldn't replace them for her, and she said they were kinda rude about it.  I sympathized with her, and told her they'd always replaced them for me if someone gave me one that was expired.  So she gave me the codes and told me I could have them if I could get them replaced.  I wrote to CS at 4:10,  white lying just a bit about how my friend always sent me codes last minute, I hadn't checked FB for a few days, and when I got them they didn't work, could they check to see if they were expired?  By 4:35 they had sent me two new codes with no expiration date!!!!!  25 minutes!!!!!!   And she only buys CEs, she just uses PCCs for games for her grandkids.  Why would they replace them for me but not her?  She's a much better customer.  And now she's really pissed!!!
So now I have 2 PCCs and I'm a member until July 14th.  If we get a BOGO with a BPM I would only have to use 1 GCC and end up with a full card.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.
