Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I just finished the main game of Nightmares from the Deep: Davy Jones Collector's Edition.  Hope to get to the bonus chapter tonight or tomorrow.

This is the 5th CE that I've finished since April 20.  I haven't bought anything since that same day, so I've actually made progress is reducing the number of unplayed games in my inventory.

Where did you read about BZ's contract with BFG ending Tirama?

I didn't.  But other than porting their games to iPad, BoomZap has not released a HOPA since Dec 2014.  The ART and AK updates are now 5 and 6 months old, respectively, and there's been no updates to fix bugs.  BF CS claims they can't access an individual's AK or ART game.  Nobody has mentioned anything about any BoomZap games in beta and May is almost over.

Ergo - BZ has completed their contract to supply BF with games and now can spend all their time making games for mobile phones. They feel they don't need a publisher to sell games through the apple store so they don't need BF.

Maybe there's still a game or two that needs to be ported to iPad, but I won't be buying them.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I gave up on Myths of the World: Spirit Wolf and started Cadenza Kiss of Death CE instead.  I'm also playing Hidden Wonders of the Deep 3, the M3 series with the crab.  I really loved the first one but you only had so many lives to get through a level, if you didn't make it you had to start over from the beginning of the level.  This one you just replay the board.  It also has a relaxed mode, but I like the timer.  It has different types of play in it, I'm stuck right now on a board I can't even really describe.  There's a lot of empty spaces, some squares that are colored, they can't be moved until after they've been matched.  and some squares with tokens in them.  You have to get the crab to the treasure chest by moving(any direction, making turns if you want, any amount of spaces) the unlocked tokens to make a group.  You move the crab yourself, at any time, to any open space.   Tokens slowly repopulate on the board.  If you move to slow they will gradually take over the board and you won't be able to move tokens out of the way.  Told you I couldn't describe it.  I keep getting logjammed in a bottleneck.  I really like a good M3.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

Pride in their workmanship must have went out the window.  I don't know how bad it was since I stopped playing AK before the final update.  It is a real shame that a game as good as AK is left dangling with no closure to it.

I picked up the daily deal Tales From the Dragon Mountain: The Lair up today.  It was on my wait for the DD list so, I am glad I didn't miss it.

They certainly made it obvious that they weren't interested in the game any more and wanted to spend their time elsewhere.  There was 7 months between the last 2 updates for ART.  I don't think they took 7 minutes to QA it.  Yes, it's that bad.

I know people are comlaining about Eipix not being Blue Tea and that the Dark Parables series is now ruined, but I don't get the complaints that the fragmented objects that are assembled or no longer beautiful and delicate.  They were ugly and clunky looking, lacking fine detail, in the Jack and the Beanstalk story, and one game maybe two before that.  Don't know about the game Blue Tea did after Jack but before Eipix came aboard.  Was too disappointed in the last 2 to check it out.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I too thought the Jack game was pretty horrible looking. I did pick up the Mermaid one with a coupon (I think). But I've yet to look at it.

I just finished the main game of Dead Reckoning Brassfield Manor. Sigh, I found it very easy.  For me is seemed like some puzzles had a lot of missed opportunities.  You made one move and it was over.  I don't know maybe it's a mood for me, but the first one was far more entertaining.  And seemed like you were really involved and on a case. This one seemed like it was all done for you. The evidence and suspect board were a joke, I'm not sure what the point of them even was for them.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2015

I finished the 3rd Nightmares from the Deep.  Something about the artwork with the people semsed a bit off.  Or maybe I'm just too picky.

I thought the second Dark Parables was the best, storywise, lengthwise, artwork.  The third one wasn't bad, and seemed to continue the storyline from the second.  I thought it was an interesting concept that all those women who married Prince Charming had been married to the same man/frog.  I was looking forward to the stories of the Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and I can't remember who the fith wife was, but the next games was the Red Riding Hood Sisters.

At that point, it felt like a second series had started, one that I didn't like nearly as much.  I played teh Final Cinderella and Jack, but didn't bother buying Rapunzel after looking through a walkthru and seeing that the fragmented objects were once again lacking in detail and beauty.  I wonder just how long ago Blue Tea started making games for mobile devices?  I get the feeling that the last DP's they made, their hearts and minds were elsewhere.

Hi.  I've been super busy in RL and really haven't had much to say about games either.  In April I finished ONE game but bought 11!!  I don't think I'll finish any games in May.  I'm playing CLUTTER III which is HUGE!!  I just can't seem to focus on HOPAs.

Right now I'm in a funk about losing ART and AK.  I'm especially sad about AK.  I'll finish out what I can (I still have achievements to get in both games).  ART might have the holiday events up until the end of the year.  At least I hope so.

I just removed Clutter IV from my computer.   I played all the hidden object games in it, and played as many of the mini games that I enjoyed.  I'm not going to force myself to play the ones I hate.  I consider the game finished because I finished the hidden object levels and those levels were why Igot the game in the first place.
