Even though that sounds so funny, I actually had the same experience when I started buying games for 59 cents from GameHouse. A stop was put on my credit card as fraudsters first try your card by putting tiny little amounts through to see if it works without alerting the credit card companies ... although, of course, now they're aware of that and so question all the little transactions. So I had to contact my credit card company, too, to say that yes, even though I normally paid more for my games from GameHouse I could now get really cheap ones so please remove the hold so that I could buy more.
They said that they'd noticed that I'd bought previous games from GH but, as these amounts were so small, they'd been suspicious. I thanked them very much for being so careful and then told them to please not put any more stops on purchases from GH.
I also have that problem when I go back to Australia and start using my Aussie credit card after maybe not having used it for a couple of years (when I'm here in Germany). But in Australia they ring you before they put a stop on your card, to check that it is really you who's suddenly gone on a shopping spree; they don't just put a stop on your card and wait for you to notice.

I saw something on TV recently about how to keep any cards where you have to punch in a PIN secure, and one thing that I remember that I hadn't realised was that, once you've punched in your 4 numbers, a heat signature on the 4 numbers your] punched can be read by a special ... and cheap ... machine that anyone can get a hold of. It not only shows which 4 numbers you punched but also in what order as the heat signature will be greater the more recently you punched the keys. One way to stop this, which I now always do, is, once you've punched in the 4 numbers, cover all the numbers with your hand so that the entire keypad will read hot so that they can't differentiate between the numbers and work out which numbers you've just punched.
And another really important thing to do is to never, ever let your card out of your sight. Never let a waiter in a restaurant, for example, take your card away to put it through as it takes only a nanosecond for them to read your card and get all the relevant info they need if they have the machine to do that.
There's now also an app you can download to your smartphone from the banks or credit institutions so that, if your card has been stolen, or if you simply can't find it, you can immediately put a hold on the card 24/7 until you contact the bank, or until you find it. If it's just a case of not being able to find your card but then you find it when you go looking, you can then remove the hold yourself without having to alert your bank or having to go through the whole process of getting a new card when you just put it down somewhere and forgot about it then found it again, which I sometimes do when I'm making an online purchase and have a new card with a new security number on the back that I can't remember.

What a great tip stusue. I'll be covering the whole PIN pad with my hand from now on.
I just finished Cadena: Music, Betrayal and Death CE. I was so glad I got the CE on this one. It was like the bonuses in the extras just kept coming. First you can go back after the main game & bonus game is over to find notes that you missed, then comes connections and then collections and then a HO scene and then a jigsaw puzzle and then a little cut scene. Very nice indeed + the game was excellent and the bonus was quite fun.
I am stuck in The Emptiness game. Was having a hard time finding 2 letters and asked in the game forum for help. I received help with one letter which was nice, but still having trouble finding the second letter. Can't advance until I find it.

Great tip stusue! I'll have to try to remember to use that!
I've gotten my card declined and was told to call the bank when I was out of the country and used the card. Now I tell my credit card company when I'll be out of the country. My ex has had a card declined when the puchase was much larger than he'd usually make (and also out of the country). Of course in his case the amount was only several hundred $$!
Pretty soon (late this year?) the US will finally get the credit cards with the chip that constantly radomly changes the code.

I've had the card declined when I went back to New York for the holidays. We drive up, and the credit card company has no problem with alllowing us to buy gas, stay at motels, or eat our meals out along the way.
Once in New York, we can shop and buy clothes. But go to Best Buy and buy a compter? Declined! The sales clerk has t call the CC company and put me on the phone to confirm Yes, it's me. Yes, I really am up here in New York paying higher sales tax to buy a computer. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

I gave up the arguing with GH, after about over 30 mails back and forth
I started a new subscription and when I looked at my account I noticed that I had only three punches on my card. I had five before. Then I realized that it was a new card and one already filled That must have happened when I used my January Coupon and bought Taken Souls PE and they didn´t see me as a member.
I have finished Dreamscapes-Nightmare´s Heir PE. It was OK, but not as good as the first one.
I´m playing Fantasy Mosaics 6 and Hidden Expediton- The Crown of Solomon.

I did, I found I had a bunch of expiring PCCs so I picked up Cruel Collections Any Wish Hotel, Psycho Train, Gizmos Spirit of Christmas and The Cursed Island Mask of Bargas. Nothing more in the sales though.

You didn't get Regency Solitaire. (Can't figure out which emoticon means shock and horror.)
I got that one with a PCC and bought 2 game club credits which I used to get Off The Record: The Art of Deception Collector's Edition and Myths of the World: Of Fiends and Fairies Collector's Edition.
The leaves me needing one more punch to fill my card. I'm going to wait and see what comes out this week and decide next Monday.

I used a GCC and got Regency Solitaire and Love Chronicles Winter's Spell SE. Haven't demoed Regency but I love Grey Alien and it got great reviews so I'm no worried. I also got Legend of Kisilova the other day so I need one more punch for my card. I'll have to remember to rejoin before I get that last punch. I want to put it off until late February if I can so then my membership will go to late March, I'll be able to fill another card with PCCs or CS coupons. There's a lot of SE versions coming out that I want.
Sometimes I'll have to talk to the CC company when I travel up north in the spring, especially when stocking up on cigarettes along the way. Cigs in New York are over $10 pack, in the Carolinas/Virgina they're $4. I love the idea of being able to put your own hold on your CC, I'll stick mine in my back pocket sometimes and forget about it, I'll be pretty sure it's not stolen, just misplaced and don't want to cancel it. I lost mine on the way south this year, I'm pretty sure it fell out of my back pocket when I changed pants in my van right before I left. They gave me the option of keeping the same number or getting a new one, I decided on the new one just in case.
