Re: Oldest HOPA Game Challenge 11/1/2014 to 11/30/2014

Games carried over from October thread for November challenge ending 11/30/14:

7. Azada: Ancient Magic (7/31/09) Finished 11/6/14 ~ liked it better than first one!
8. Mystery in London (8/1/09) Finished 11/14/14 ~ Finally, thank goodness, very long!
9. The Stone of Destiny (8/8/09)  Finished 11/3/14

Although it looks like I didn't play any of these in October, I have been playing Mystery in London and since I seem to play it at night, it always makes me sleepy; 360 doesn't bother me but am ready for it to be over.  Checked the forum to see how close to done I am and there's 19 chapters and I'm on 11, ugh.

Mostly played my MCF challenge game - Escape from Ravenhearst and finished it, plus had to work on my personal forum challenges to finish up everything by 10/31/14 so did get lots of game playing in last month.  Just started Azada: Ancient Magic and think I'm going to like it better than the first one, esp since I'm going to play on casual/no timer.

I have KATE ARROW but I haven't played it yet.  I enjoyed SHAOLIN MYSTERY: TALE OF THE JADE DRAGON.  I liked HE: TITANIC right up until the end.  Don't want to say any more until you finish it.

Re: Oldest HOPA Game Challenge 11/1/2014 to 11/30/2014

I really need to get into these "challenges" all of you are into.  I desperately need some kind of incentive to get my games played.  I can't even remember the last game I played all the way through.  L-o-n-g time ago, that's for sure.  But, somehow, some way, new ones keep showing up in my Game Manager.    I can't figure out HOW that is happening.   And what would be MY oldest HOPA????  Hmmmmm.  Probably something from way back in 2007-2008.  Sigh.

Where am I going? And why am I in this hand basket!!!?

Well, freyasmom, you have definitely come to the right place.  We, also, don't know how those games keep showing up in our Game Managers , hence the need to be a member of this forum.  I joined BFG in Dec. 2008, so lots of my games from back then got started but never finished, plus RL got in the way of my game playing.

Just pick three of your oldest, don't worry about the time frame and get them played and outta your GM.  I'm enjoying playing them, even though they are really old; one, because I bought 'em and it would seem like throwing my money away if I didn't play them and two, because it's fun to see how far we've come.

Re: Oldest HOPA Game Challenge 11/1/2014 to 11/30/2014

Sorry for this but I see everyone else's dates and think whew I'm not doing so bad! Lol.  My first purchase was 2005 but for the first year games were really expense so I only bought one a month.

Yeah Freyasmom just pick three old ones and try to pick away at them.  I'm quite enjoying these older ones.  I gather you don't get a lot of free time?  I tend to play for a couple of hours before bed so I do get at least one game done a week, usually two.

Re: Oldest HOPA Game Challenge 11/1/2014 to 11/30/2014

I only bought 2 games at BF in 2010 and both of them have been played.  In 2011 and beyond I went game buying crazy.

I finished Kate Arrow: Deserted Wood.  HOG heavy and after doing the 6th scene I said that's enough for now and quit until the next time.  It wasn't a bad game and I was enjoying it.  It is 5 chapters long and the chapters are approximate 35-40 minutes each.  Predictable story and the ending was a little lame.  The Character is named Kate Arrow, but I have no idea what the Deserted Wood means (?)
