Hi everyone!

stusue -- I'm glad you sister is slowly getting better and now can withstand that long flight.  I'm sure Skyping isn't anywhere near as good but at least you all get to see one another.

Wasn't Baikal one of the people from Ireland who lost their jobs?

Hi, Lily!

Thanks, I'll pass on your kind words to my sister in the morning as she's already in bed and I'm about to head to my own bed as soon as I've finished this post.    And yes, it is great to see and chat to each other every day, which we normally do from 1.5-2 hours a day, when we also play games online together.

And, yes, I think Baikal was one of the people from Ireland who lost their jobs when they closed the office.

I read parts of that thread last night, and thought hmm these are adults? I just think the whole exchange was really ridiculous. And why are these folks are even posting on a site they detest so much? It was very seventh grade if you know what I mean. I saw the balance of the thread, and scanned thru, frankly I think they are all as bad as each other. I can see how some comments were hurtful, but the responses were just as uncalled for and vile imo. Does no one know how to turn the other cheek and walk away?

I find your remarks very condescending and judgmental.  You do not know the real facts behind the debate and what started it in the first place, and you do not know the people personally whom you are judging.  I take all this personally because I was also in the debate and you must have noticed that because you read it.  A very nasty private PM was sent to Coors and she decided to face her accuser in public and stand up for her rights.  A group of her friends supported her and they have every right to voice their opinions.  They were my friends so I agreed with them.  Tirama has said the group baited Rhonayotte which is not true.  There are two sides to every story so please don't judge if you don't know all the details.  To call it a gang bang is being judgmental and since I was there, I guess I am included in the gang?

I am very upset by all this.  I knew what happened behind the scenes and I stood by my friends. I suppose now you all have a poor opinion of me?  Perhaps it is best that I leave this forum and I have deleted most of my threads.  I am sorry you all feel this way.  Take care.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm sorry you feel that way. I went based on the exchange out there for viewing.  I can't really going on anything else. And that's what I thought about it. As well it didn't make me have a low opinion of anyone as people just an opinion on the behaviour exhibited. I don't think my posts targeted anyone in particular. And no I didn't read the whole thing as it seemed to spiral out of control very quickly.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

barre - you do what you feel you have to do, but I stand behind what I've posted.  People showing up to post on a forum they continually claim to be uninterested in and run by a company they claim they would never buy games from is nothing more than trolling and baiting the people who chose to do business with Big Fish.

I've had issues with another game site, but I can't see any reason for me to go to that site and harass their customers.  I simply took my business elsewhere and let others decide for themselves where they will do their shopping.  I certainly wouldn't go to a Burger King (as an example) and scream at people to take their business elsewhere,or in any other way make it unpleasant for those buying Whoppers, and I don't see why that sort of behavior should be concidered acceptable in cyber life.

Just a quick heads up to say I've used my free game coupon, it worked for a CE, and yes, I got a bonus punch.  Off to bed.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Take care barre.  I am sorry you don't consider us your friends also.

Wendy...Another site is Viva-Media.com to buy games from.  I have never used it, I just know about it.  Also, iwin is another one I know about.

stusue...No, I didn't know that True Fear was a trilogy beforehand,  I still would have bought it anyways.  I have no regrets getting it and of course, I will tell you my thoughts on it when I am done.  In the bonus section there is something called True Fear II  which you can't access until you finish.  I just finished chapter 1 on Sunday.  It seemed very long and I was stuck in  a few places.

Yes, say good bye to your sister from me too.  How did she like seeing the snow?  I know you will miss her terribly.  I will be saying good bye to a family member myself in 6 months time.  I can't talk about it yet.  It just hurts too much.

lilyr...Ah, A fellow cold weather temp. sufferer like myself.  I have high hopes for April.

Tirama...I like your Burger King analogy.

Oscar...I didn't see anything wrong with your post.  It got ugly on both sides. Like you said we don't know what went on behind the scenes.  Nor do I want to.   Even Big Fish didn't want to be associated with such nastiness, I am so glad that they deleted it all out.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

First thing I saw when I checked in this morning was Barregar's birthday thread so left a greeting and then I come here and see that she doesn't want to be part of our group anymore.  That makes me sad that a stupid post on the BFG forum can even touch our small group.  I haven't sent a message to BFG but after someone pointed out that the codes email mentioned getting a punch as well as new ones received, then they aren't honoring their policy in print.  Plan to use a couple of mine this morning and shoot off a complaint, get what I can from them then cancel for good this time.  Doesn't even matter to me anymore as I really have a bad taste in my mouth for BFG now and everything it does.

I have a dentist appt this morning but am cancelling as we had sleet, ice, thunder rumbles and snow yesterday and overnight and it is now 5 degrees (feels like -10), Yikes, that's pretty cold for us and the pooch decided the front porch was as far as he was going to go to do his thing, hopefully the bit of snow there will wash it away.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Thanks Sun. It is unfortunate Barre felt the way she did. That wasn't a debate going on in that thread and I think my post quoted was pretty benign.  Sun - As soon as you are able you know you can always come here for some support. Or to just vent.

I played more of The Torment of Mont Criste.  I like how puzzle heavy it is, but it seems like it will be a pretty short game. I skipped one puzzle so far, I just could not see the pattern in it.

Tee the cold is just blech, it's -30C with the wind chill today and unfortunately I have to go out this afternoon.  On the bright side it is bright and sunny so that's nice.

I'm not really bothered about the punches.  Someone posted that BFG would see how this affected them.  That they normally spend a lot each month, at least 2/3 of it with PCCs so their spending would go way down.  I read that and thought, that is exactly the point and why they are no longer giving a punch for a game they gave you for free in the first place.  From a business point of view it makes sense. Plus I have never personally had issues with them. I will continue my membership and buying pretty much exclusively from them.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

barre -- Things did get ugly in that thread but I didn't think oscar's post was ugly or condescending.  Do what feels right for you though.  Maybe a bit of time away and then you'll feel like coming back.

sunshinej -- From what our weather people are saying we'll have at least 2 more weeks of cold and snow.  April might be optomistic! I'll think about getting good weather then.

teeitup -- Cancelling sounds wise.  Stay warm and safe.

Tirama -- You said you got a punch.  Did you mean 3 punches for the CE and a bonus punch (I hope).

oscar -- I didn't see a problem with your post either.  Emotions were running pretty high in that thread and barre may just have hit her tipping point.  The cold is what's gotten to me this winter.  I can deal with snow.  We've been fortunate that we've only had a few days with windchill down in the -20s.

I've been playing CLUTTER and not really enjoying it.  If they would tell you what you need to do with each board that would help.  but then there's the slightly -out-of-focus boards, the no-hint boards and I find Leon smarmy.  I'll finish it but I'm glad I didn't buy the others.  I need to find a good, fairly easy, bright, funny game.  I'm sure there are 20 or 30 in my unplayed mob!

Lily I found Queens Tales The Beast and the Nightingale, fun fairly easy and the creatures very bright and reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.  There was a sorceress, I think she was the only malevolent element.  It is the classic beauty and the beast.

I do feel bad she chose to remove herself.
