Same nasty stuff that they posted all over CCC on its last day.  It's been over 6 months since CCC closed, for crying out loud, build a bridge and get over it already.

The developers that have cosied up to this crowd better watch their back.  When a company stops doing things their way, they go out for blood.

Tirama, I think you might be right, especially as a few said that they seldom - or never - frequent BFG anymore, and yet there they were.  One even said that she was never on BFG but, after hearing about the thread, thought she'd pop on over and join in.

I can't quote on my IPad, but thank you tirama for my lol moment "build a bridge and get over it"! I am stealing that one. (And it's so true)

(happy) aww she's welcome Stusue, I've been thinking about her.  On the bright side we do have skype, not the same but it's neat to be able to see your loved one.  Except no going and taking a sneaky pee while talking like you do with the phone!  I know I'm not the only one who does that.

Sunshine - I'm with you re the snow.  I'm not sure how many inches we've had but we have had several snowfalls that have dumped 20 inches at a time.  I'm sick of shovelling and slogging thru it. There was a 200 car pile up here outside of town on the highway  a week or so ago. Weather related and driver related of course.  People don't take precautions.

Yeah, Oscar, I Skype every day with my sister (and my mum whenever she feels like chatting with us) and we even play games together.  But it sure isn't the same as hanging out together all day, every day, and going out for lunch, and coffee, and ice cream, and into town, and biking around everywhere together...

BF totally removed a ton of posts in that thread.  It was 8 pages this morning, now it is 3.  There's a few 'removed by moderator' but most of them are totally and completely gone.  I've never seen them take posts away without the 'mod' explanation.

Maybe the posters themselves deleted their messages after they had been reduced to [removed by moderator].  Either way, I don't think anything that was removed was worthy of being saved for posterity.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've had several people PM me asking about other game sites.  I've told them Legacy, GOG, and Gamehouse.  Am I forgetting anyplace?  And if you're a Funpass member you get a free SE each month, right?  For under $10/mo?  Otherwise 2 SEs for $10, and 6 games gets a free game, right?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Has anyone played any of the following CEs?  I'm going to try my free coupon code tomorrow and then, depending on how many punches I get, decide if I want to get 2 CEs with this weekend's code - assuming it will still work tomorrow - to fill 2 punch cards, as I have no PCCs expiring this month.

Grim Legends: The Forsaken Bride
Lost Lands: Dark Overlord
Danse Macabre: The Last Adagio
Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Hi everyone!  I'm catching up here.

meg -- So glad Tessa is home and her buddy is happy!  I loved reading those posts.

sunshinej -- I hear you about the freezing cold.  i can deal with snow but the temps we've had this winter are ridiculously low!

stusue -- I'm glad you sister is slowly getting better and now can withstand that long flight.  I'm sure Skyping isn't anywhere near as good but at least you all get to see one another.

Wendy -- So MODs DO work on weekends! Actually I know they do.  Interesting little paring to that thread.  It did devolve into some pretty ugly posts though.

Wasn't Baikal one of the people from Ireland who lost their jobs?

Tirama -- "build a bridge and get over it!"  LOVE IT!

Wendy, I buy games from other sites as well but my main 2 are BFG and GameHouse, as well as Legacy, GOG, and others.  I'm just off to bed now and am too tired to think of all the other places where I've bought games.

However, about FunPass ... if you get a Monthly FunPass it's about $20 a month full price, and you get a free SE each month.  If you get a Yearly FunPass it's either about $100 or $120 per year full price (I was quoted both), payment up front, and you also get a free SE each month.  So, in order for a FunPass to be under $10 a month you have to get a Yearly FunPass and pay the entire year's membership up front.  But they have deals from time to time so you can get either the monthly or yearly membership cheaper (eg. my Yearly FunPass is about $5.70 a month but I had to pay the entire year up front).

Otherwise, yes, you can get the other membership (I forget what it's called) when you get 2 coupon codes each month for about $10 and you can use the codes for either 2 SEs or 1 CE.  However, you can't play all the games like you can with a FunPass.

Any games anyone buys (with cash) gets you 3 punches for a CE and 1 for an SE.  If you have no membership of any sort, once you've filled a card you can get a game at 75% off (I think that's the percentage).  However, if you have any sort of membership - either FunPass or the other one - not only does a completed punch card get you a game at 100% off (that is, free), but you also get the first 2 punches free, so you only have to get 4 punches to complete a card and get a PCC.  Punch cards are also valid for 6 months from the date of the first punch (so no filling one by the end of the month) and I think the PCCs are valid for 2 months (?).  It's also really easy to use them as they're listed with the games you've bought and whenever you want to buy a game the next expiring PCC code is listed underneath the game and all you have to do is click on the little box and that will be used - so no searching for an email that contains your PCC codes and then copying/pasting them when you want to use them - or trying to remember when you have PCCs expiring.

I hope I've made sense as I'm really and am now going to bed.  If not, just ask!
