Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Well first, I wanted to fill my game card so I bought Paranormal Pursuit CE and used a coupon for Weird Park, forgetting there is no punch for that doh!  Then bought Runaway Express Mystery.  For some reason I just didn't want to give up those two punches.

Second, I have to say I am quite disappointed with the new MFC.  It was not challenging like I expected from the hype.  In the lock puzzle that I had an issue with, please note that the final piece needs to be put in it puzzle slot before it can be put into its final resting place.  I went back and removed all the pieces and put the final piece with it and then did the little puzzle and that took care of the issue I had.  The bonus chapter took less than an hour as it the alternate and I got to the point that I skipped the dialogue, it was monotonous, boring and didn't invest me in the story at all. A big ole raspberry.  And it only took me a couple of evenings to play.  I think Madame Fate took me a week and had far more engaging characters.   I hope everyone else enjoys it more than I did.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Congrats stusue!

oscar -- I was following a Speculation thread about the new MCF.  I haven't played the game yet but from comments I've read the thread was more entertaining than the game.   A lot of people felt the same way that you do.  I'll get it and play it (some time) but it seems disappointing.  From what I saw in the speculation thread it had the potential to be a much better game.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

GameHouse has Weird Park so I'm going to play it from there.  I'll probably get the SE of MCF at the next BOGO.
I was wondering if the free game was in the GH pack.  I plan on getting the pack so I won't bother with the freebie.  Sometimes I can get the games downloaded with no problem from GofD, other times I can't get them to unzip, or whatever it is you have to do.
I was deleting some games off my GM and didn't know if I'd played Redemption Cemetary Grave Redemption so I started it up and I don't think I have, so I played a bit of it and will probably continue.  The Red. Cem. games play sloooowly on my computer, but this one seems to play a little better than normal.  I have at least a half dozen games going

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just started playing The Far Kingdoms Winter Solitaire.  I always wonder how random the hands are.  And of course the first couple of hands are rigged in your favor so you can clear the board easily.  Well, not so in this game.  I just played the very first, tutorial hand.  I had 24 cards left on the board.  I'm gonna like this game

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm getting aggravated with Black Mirror.  Back and forth, back and forth, and no jump map within an area.  You have to keep talking with people and it takes like 30 seconds for them to turn around and get the conversation started.  And I'm living in the walkthrough.  Am I stupid because I couldn't figure out to throw the wire in the grass so the guy would break the lawnmower when he mowed over it and I could grab keys out of his jacket when he left to get tools  I think not.  I think they're too stupid to figure out a decent way for me to figure out the stuff

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I tried that new FTP, Wanderings, something like that.  It must be by Elephant, it was soooo much like Midnight Castle.  In the forum I've read that you use your energy to move places but it hasn't said anything about energy to me yet, except when I leveled up and gained more, but it didn't say what it was for or where you could check on it.  It told me to go do an HO scene, a different one, and when I got there it was locked and I needed to buy a lily to open it, but it didn't tell me how much the lily would cost.  I bought it, but I don't know how much I paid or where I bought it from.  My monitor said it would be delivered by 12/10 when I ordered it, then it said it was shipping and I would get it Wednesday, 12/3, when I checked on it today it said it was out for delivery, should have it by end of day

ETA:  After playing a bit more the game gave me a store, inventory, collections, etc.  It didn't say anything about them, though, they were just suddenly at the bottom of the screen, I think it was when I leveled up.  It also gave me an energy bar and I've figured out how much items cost when I need to buy them, but I guess I'm buying them out of thin air.  I'm not really liking the game much so far..  I like AK and ART much better.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I could swear I read a post where somebody mentioned downloading their Christmas games but I can't find it so that I can give credit where credit is due.

So thank you whoever it was for reminding me that I should start playing MY three unplayed Christmas games:  Christmas Griddlers, The Ultimate Christmas Puzzler, and Christmas Stories: A Christmas Carol Collector's Edition.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Got my big beautiful monitor, hubby had Netflix going on it right away.  Then I tried a game on it and the objects are so much easier to see.
I played The Christmas Carol SE last year.  I almost didn't get it, it's probably my least favorite Christmas story,  but I it.  I liked it better than Nutcracker.   It's going to be really pretty on my new monitor

Thank you, America and your Thanksgiving.  I've just got 4 point-and-click adventure games and one super fun board game (that you can play with a friend online if you want) for $8.97 in the GamersGate Thanksgiving sale using their Thanksgiving code.  The email said that you could only use the code for one purchase per account but I just put all 5 games in the basket and got the 20% off the total, so a further 20% off games that had already been reduced 75-80% in the sale!

I got 3 fun adventure games:   Adam's Venture 1, 2 and 3

one horror adventure game:  Baron Wittard - Nemesis of Ragnarok

and one fun board game:   Don't Get Angry! 3  for $8.97 !!!!

I haven't "bought" anything at BFG since the last BOGOF; I've only used expiring coupons.  I've just bought heaps of great games really cheaply at all the other game sites that have had some super sales this past week or two.

It's really weird though - I can gift Don't Get Angry! 3 to anyone straight away but I have to wait 24 hours until I can unlock it and download it for myself.  I've never come across that before and have no idea why they'd do that.

Ok guys/gals:  I am DEFINITELY a newbie here.  Explain please - difffereent gaming sites.  Why use them vs. BFG.  Went to GamersGate.  Can you demo games there?  Can you point me in the direction of other sites I sjould join?  Pls forgive typos.  Blurry vision.  Hope it's allergies.

Where am I going? And why am I in this hand basket!!!?
