Okay, I signed up for the $70.  When do I get the free coupons, at the end of every 30 days?  It doesn't say anywhere.  And what's the best way to use them?  Any tips?  And now the discount games have disappeared from the front page, where do I go to find them.  I'm so excited

Wendy, I signed up on the 10th of the month and got my first coupon on the 15th of that month.  What I don't know, however, is whether I got it shortly after I signed up or whether everyone gets it on the 15th.  I imagine everyone would get their coupons on the same day of the month, as that would be much more practical for GH.

So tips ... Never forget that you only get a month to use your monthly GCCs, unlike at BFG.  I never use my coupons until the day before the next one comes, so on the 14th of each month, to make sure to get the game I most want.  And also don't forget that all GH coupons are valid for both SEs and PEs!

The first 2 punches on your punch cards are now already punched when you get them, so you only need to pay for 4 SEs, or 1 PE and 1 SE (coupons don't count), to get a reward coupon that's also valid for both SEs and PEs.  These, unlike the monthly GCCs, are valid for, I think, 2 months.  However, what makes it really easy is that every time you get a game, your next reward coupon comes up on the purchase screen and you just tick the box to use it, so it makes it much easier to not forget about them and lose them (although I've always been given replacements whenever I've forgotten to use either a GCC or reward coupon).  You can also find them listed on your purchases screen, along with which games you've purchased to get them, so you don't have to keep a list of them yourself and you don't have to find the email with the code when you want to use one.  How easy is that?

I try and get discounted games to fill my cards.  So, each week (Tuesday to Monday) I check out the discounted games and see if there are any $1.19 games I'd like and then wait for the 50% off days (when you use a code, sometimes it's only a 30% discount) to get them for 59 cents.  Thus, for $2.36 I get 4 great games as well as a reward coupon for an SE or a PE!  And, unlike BFG when the punch cards are only valid for one month, GH punch cards are valid for 6 months from the date of your first purchase for that card.

To find the discounted games, if you go to the main games page, click on the "PC Games" tab on the "Games" tab and at the bottom of the list of options you'll find "Discounted Games".

What I tend to do is play HOPAs using my FunPass (getting PEs with my coupons if they're games I think are great and want to keep, like Runaway Geisha), and get M3s and TMs with my coupons as they're games I play over and over again.

And don't forget that any games you purchase from GH (with $ or coupons) are 100% downloaded to your computer and you don't need a GM or an internet connection to play them.  Also, when you download a game to play with your FunPass then buy it, all you have to do is click on "Unlock this game", or whatever it says, on the screen that comes up when you want to play the game; you don't have to download it again.  All it does is check the licence then unlocks it.

Have fun playing as many games as you can!!!!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Thanks, Stusue.  I'm sure this will get me to actually play more games, after all, the more I play, the cheaper they were, right?  And it's less than $6/month!  I've only ever replayed a handful of HOGs, so what I actually own from BFG can last me a lifetime.
I found the discounted game page, thank you, I was interested maybe in the Build-a-lot one, never played one but it has good reviews and I have most of the other discounted games.  It now says $1.19, but if I wait for a sale with a code I can get it cheaper, right?  It doesn't seem like it's taking the 50% off.  It was really neat seeing my punch card go from 1 to 3, too.  Should have waited to buy the Campfire game, would have saved me a buck or two.
I know this post is all sort of disjointed, but I'm just really excited!  I love getting a good deal

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished Geisha.  It was pretty good.  Fairly realistic plot, I really appreciate that.  There doesn't seem to be a bonus game.  i missed 2 origami and barely got any of the achievements  There was no way I was getting through this game without hints!  There was an achievement for finishing in 2 1/2 hrs, and there were 2 slightly different endings so if I ever played it again I could rack up more achievements and do the other ending, but I doubt I will.  It would be a nice game to own just because of the setting, pre WW1 Japan.    So I finished an entire game in one day, don't know if I've ever done that before.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just finished League of Light-Dark Omen CE and it was amazing. I rated it 5 stars and a true one unlike all those reviewers who rate 5 on everything. I guess pennmom likes everything and isn't picky at all to please. Anyways, the only bummer to this game is if you get the SE, it will have a really abrupt ending that does not completely wrap up its loose ends therefore you need the bonus chapter to finish the game. I hate when developers do that but I loved the game so much, I didn't mark it down for it. Just heads up if you get the SE. The bonus chapter was worth the money though. Its in a new location and isnt just hog after hog. It was good.

Wendy: I didn't like Bloody Mary either. I thought for a CE it had weak features like the collectibles were a yawn! And then I expected it to be sooo much more creepy than it was. Probably why I am not at all excited about the vengenance. And I didnt't care for the geisha either...the eastern theme just never does it for me....idk why

I have moved onto HIdden Expedition: Smithsonian hope diamond CE and its kind of lackluster. I like how usually in Eipix games you can change from HOGS to games and in this one you can't as its sticking to the original Hidden Expedition format. Its better than the last in this series though. Devil's Triangle is my favorite one. I remember it being sooo challenging because I was such a newbie then and needing soo much help. I should replay it to see if it was because I was a newbie or if it really IS a hard game. Return To Ravenhurst still stumps me now even as a seasoned player.

I am also playing Jo's Organic Coffee 2, gardenscapes 2, heyday kingdom (which got sooo much harder than the demo ugh! and its timed )

Now I will go dip into my FTP games and return with codes. xx

I have insomnia yet Im coming down with some kind of flu...have had a sore itchy throat all day long. Probably because hubby insists on sleeping with a window open and its been like 50 at night. He gets too warm and I get too cold.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

ok game codes

For Awakening Kingdoms: 23757628

For American Road Trip: 14485239

Agency 33-cant find anywhere to add so maybe you cant LOL

dark manor is taking forever to update/load. I don't think any of you play this game so will only give it if someone here plays it...its okay...not the most intersting game out there

I also have 2 found accounts. One is on my dads ipad so I rarely get to play it anymore and im on level 71. The other one I just started over and don't have the social available to me yet so if anyone plays that one let me know.

FTPs are great time fillers. I never pay for them....although sometimes I have thought about it with AK...

I have no challenges I can actually do in American Road Trip without upgrading a bunch of buildings and I don't have enough paint cans to do it...but I refuse to add money. lol

NP, Wendy.  And yes, the more you play the cheaper each game is.  For example, if you don't play a single game one month, then you end up with one game for $5.83 (your monthly subscription, either SE or PE).  If, however, you play a game a day for the month, say 30 games including your monthly game, then each game would cost less than 20 cents!!!!

And also yes, if you wait for a sale where you have to use a code, then you get that % off the discounted price.  That's why I wait for a 50%-off-with-a-code sale to buy the discounted games.  There's normally a % sale every day of the week, so you afford to wait.  If there isn't a 50%-off sale (or 30%) by Monday, the last day for the weekly discounted games (although only a few change each week), then I just use one of my 25% discount coupons, if I don't want to risk that game disappearing.  That's how I get 5 games, including possibly a PE with the reward coupon (PCC), for $2.36, if I can get all the discounted games at 50% off.  How great a deal is that?  Especially as you can do that every single day; it's not a special deal.

I'm also going to get Build-a-lot Mysteries!  I've demoed lots of the Build-a-lot games but never actually got one as I hate when the buildings keep on burning down or whatever and you have to continually repair them.  However, for less than $1 I'll get this one.  (I normally get any $1.19 discounted game with a % sale if it interests me at all as you can't beat those prices to get reward SE/PE PCCs.)  There are also mysteries to discover about each house and that sounds really interesting.  GH also has Build-a-lot Mysteries 2 if you like the first one.

And I'm really excited that you're so excited!!!!

Sunshine, is that one of the coupons you get when you buy a game?  They say they're only good for a week but they never seem to expire.

I've been using a code all week (that I've also used during the past few weeks) that I received on 17 August!  I just keep using the same code for as many games as I want.  I've been using it the past few days to get some SEs for $2.24 (25% off the half-price $2.99 for SEs).  The games I've got so far (the 50% sale is also valid today) are...

The Mysterious Cities of Gold - Secret Paths  (very different game, not yet at BFG)
Secrets of Olympus 2
The Far Kingdoms Winter Solitaire
Imperial Island - Birth of an Empire
Imperial Island - The Search for New Land
Pirate's Solitaire 2
Floria
Gizmos - Riddle of the Universe
Gizmos - Spooky Adventures
(a Halloween sequel, not yet at BFG)
Legend of Gallant  (not yet at BFG)

stusue...Yes, it is the coupon you get after buying a game.  I didn't know that you could save them and use them later since it says that you only have 7 days.  Good to know for future reference.

Thought that I would put the coupon code out here, in case anyone wanted to use it today, since the 50% off sale is still going on.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just read something at Pond Friends where the old games in the game forums are all locked up.  I went to check on a few oldies and every thread was indeed locked up.  I also checked a recent game Awakening: The Redleaf Forest and no threads in it were locked up.

ETA...It is not just locking up the old threads in the game forums, there is also another change too at Big Fish.  They brought back the Game Forums Home Page where you can see the most recent posts.  I like that they did that.
