Thanks for the info, StuSue. It hasn't made it much easier to decide, though. I think I'll probably end up with the PE of Witch's Pranks because I love Shaman Games and the BFG SE version only has 2 frogs, the PE has 3 plus a bonus about the witch, it sounds like, so a good bit of extra play. Finding tiny candies doesn't seem like a lot of fun, but what you do with them sounds interesting.
Funny moment. I just went and looked at the screenshots of the game you said had beautiful artwork but I wasn't at all impressed. "She thinks that's great artwork" Then I looked again and I was looking at Queen's Quest, not Runaway Geisha. I looked up Geisha, and I do love the artwork and want the game based on that alone. But I think the SE will be good enough. Well, as long as the SE ending is decent. It kinda sucks that I can't do any demos while I'm traveling, when I do buy something, I'm just guessing. I was much better about not buying this summer, I only used free coupons at BFG and just a little bit of money on sale games at Gamehouse. Does Gamehouse have that $70 deal very often? For 70 I'd get 12 PE versions of games to keep plus a year of free gaming, and I'd only have to buy 4 sale games to get another free PE game? I asked them if I could suspend a Funpass membership for the 6 months I'm traveling and couldn't use it, they said I could, but I'm not quite sure they understood the question. But even if I could only use it 6 months a year I'd still get the 6 free games for those other 6 months. Sounds like a no-brainer.
Wendy, I'm glad you realised that you were looking at the wrong game and found the beautiful artwork in Runaway Geisha. Before I'd even started playing I set one of the beautiful wallpapers as my desktop - a beautiful Japanese garden.
I asked GH a few months ago if I could suspend my annual membership while I was here in Australia and they said that there was no way to do that. But their computer system might have changed since then.
And yes, you get 12 free games - either SE or PE - as well as unlimited play of all their games for a year for $70. But they don't get many PEs so I can't always use them to get PEs, unless I want to get some of the older games that I don't already have as SEs. If I do already have the SE from BFG I just play the PE with my FunPass at GH. I generally get CEs that I know GameHouse isn't going to get at BFG and use the PCCs to get the SEs of those CEs I don't want to get as CEs. I tend to play straight SEs at GameHouse using my FunPass, just getting those games I'd like to keep either using PCCs or when there's a great sale (like now with the automatic 50% discount, plus my 25% discount for having bought a game).
If you were to take up this cheap offer for an annual subscription, you could get all 3 games as PEs with your monthly coupons! But, as I posted earlier, you'd have to find a hopspot somewhere to use your coupons each month, as you only get a month to use them. You'd also have to find a hotspot to play any games with your FunPass, unless you didn't turn your computer off, as your FunPass licence needs to be verified each time you play a game with your FunPass. But you don't need the internet to play any games you've purchased.
And yes, if you have a subscription you only need to buy (with cash) 4 games to get a coupon that is good for both SEs and PEs. I normally get the discounted games (that are $1.19 for members) when there's a 50% off sale using a coupon, and then end up with 4 games and a coupon for a PE for the grand total of $2.36 (4 x 59 cents).
As to how often they have that sale ... I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time this year, but last year they only had it once. So they'll probably have the sale again but I can't say when.

I was a good ways along in Creepy Tales Valeltown when the game got stuck. I had a white screen for ;my closeup, couldn't do whatever needed doing. I've just uninstalled it and since I have free wifi, I can reinstall it and see if it solves the problem. As a treat for making myself keep playing that one, after it got stucck I started Cadenza. Oh, my, what a game. I don't usually care much for jazz, but this game is a mind-changer. I can't get enough of the music. And for some reason I really love that the main character is a black girl. It's such a breath of fresh air from the same old, same old. The voices in this game are just as good (well, almost) as the music. I'm loving it.

I felt the same Wendy. I am not a fan of jazz but loved that game and the soundtrack so much I dl the music. And I thought the same about the heroine, it was something different. It is my top three games. I will replay that one and I don't say that often.

I agree, Wendy ~ everything you said, the jazz, the innovative HOS scenes, just everything about it made it one of my top 5 games.

Are you all talking about CADENZA: MUSIC BETRAYAL & DEATH? I hope so. I've got the CE.

Move it up your list and play it lily. it really is a fabulous.
I get to pick another game tonight, yippee. Since I finished off 4 old oldies I'm going to play something newer. Not sure what yet.

I decided on the PE of Witch's Pranks. It sounds like the SE is only about half of the game. I love Shaman games, BFG never has their CEs, and I'll just pick the other 2 up later on.
I do kinda wish I had the CE of Cadenza just for the music

I've finished Fantasy Mosaics 4: Art of Color. I started replaying the Awakening series. Still working on Jigsaws Galore and Crime Solitaire 2: The Smoking Gun.

Isn't it trippy replaying Awakening?
The free game giveaway of the day today is Dreamscapes The Sandman CE.
I think we have all already played it, but if you haven't, it's a great game and BFG only carried the SE of it. It has a great screensaver. I'm downloading it again, I got it from Playrix originally.

Wendy - It's strange playing the first Awakening. It doesn't have widescreen, and the music is so different. None of the Goblins in the Dreamless Castle look anything like the ones in AK except the guy guarding the door makes an appearance. Mira looks the same, however.
