Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Here is a picture of my granddaughter playing with my dog in June. I think she loved him just as much as I did.  Her little eyes would light up whenever she saw him.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Thanks for the condolences lilyr - oscar - Tirama - Wendy.  I still find it hard to believe that he is gone.

Wendy - My first thought was to immediently fill the dog shape hole with another dog right away.  My husband said no to wait for a bit and grieve first.  So when the time is right we are going to get another dog.  I love the shelties, but I am thinking a terrier dog for next time.

It's a shame that you can't take your dogs with you when you are on the road.   I know that you miss them.

Oscar - Yes, The Christmas Story was made in both cities.  Cleveland was the only place where they found a  department store who  willing to have the inside scenes shot. (Like having a giant mountain inside the store for months). So they found a house in Cleveland and some shots like where they were putting the leg lamp in the window were shot in Cleveland.  Ralphie's teacher was 8 months pregnant at the time and lived in Canada.  She didn't want to leave her home in case she had the baby so they all went to Canada to do the school scenes.  So we have learned on the tour.

I started Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome.  What a fantastic game.  It's a oldie so many probably already played it, but if you haven't I highly recommend it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Sun I know what you mean about waiting.  I have no children and when I lost my first dog I was devasted.  I think I was depressed I was so grief stricken.  I can still well up thinking of him and he has been gone for 10 yrs. I can still remember the first time I came home to an empty house.  My husband did not want to get another for a while but I could not live without another little being to look after.  We picked up Oscar 4 months later. I miss them both still.
They leave such a hole because they are always there for you.  Lol I always say, no back chat, no,asking for money, no judgement, always thrilled to see you and don't laugh when they see you naked!

He is gorgeous.  Shelties are such pretty dogs.  I just finished listening to a book, The Dog Who Danced and the main character was a sheltie named Mack.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

sunshinej -- Thanks for the pic.  I think waiting a bit and grieving might be good.  I had a friend who lost 2 pets in a fairly short period of time.  One was very old and sort of expected, the other one was only 10.  He vowed never to get another pet.  He wasn't going through that again.  2 weeks later ....   Wendy used to take her dogs with her but she had an equipment problem and didn't have space to take them this year,

I LOVE A CHRISTMAS STORY!! Thanks for the "behind the scenes" info.

Tirama -- Hope that AC lasts!

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

lilyr...You're welcome.  I learned a lot about the behind the scenes of the movie.

I am loving Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome.  You go from room after room and you never know what you are walking into.  The story has me riveted and whoever did the VO for Oscar is just brillant.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Played a few more levels of Big Kahuna Reef 3.  Time that I could have spent playing my purchased games has instead been used to write Awakening Kingdoms fanfic.

Can't believe it's been a year since we heard that CCC would be closing.  How things have changed.  None of us were playing free to play games back then.  Now some of us spend most of our time on the 'dark side' as lilyr calls it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Tirama -- Actually I think you called F2P the dark side when you actually payed RL money (a whole $0.76) to get the pegacorn. lol  I joined you on that part of the dark side.  That's still the only RL money I've spent on any of the F2P games.  I can't remember where I read it but FUGAZO is, at least, pulling their F2Ps due to economics.  I'm not sure if the company will continue or if it's just the F2P games.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

lilyr- you called F2P the dark side long before we spent any money on that little pegacorn.  That's what made it so surprising when it turned out you had been playing ART long before I started.

The only FUGAZO F2P game that I know of is the World Mosaics Chroma game, and I'm not surprised they would pull it.  It's a great game, but anybody halfway good at nonograms would never need to pay any money.
