Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

After playing Stranded Dreamscapes: The Prisoner I looked about for my next game.  Tried a little bit of Tiger Eye Part 1: Curse of the Riddle Box...not in the mood.  Tried F.A.C.E.S...Yes, a little better, but I already played this one and if I didn't find a game was going back to replay it.  Tried Midnight Mysteries: Haunted Houdini...Did first chapter and still not quite right.  Next tried  Ghost Towns: The Cats of Ulthar...Ah yes, A perfect fit right now.   Also, over the weekend started back up with playing  The Lost Crown: A Ghost Hunting Adventure with a vengence after 5 week break from it.  Should be done by end of week at this pace.

lilyr...I also loved Barrow Hill.  I have played it twice now.  It is a shorter adventure than most.  Is it the navigation that you find most confusing?  Navigation is done mostly by 90 degree angles.  If looking straight ahead and standing still  turn right you now you are facing right - turn to the left and now facing straight ahead again, now turn left and you are facing left - turn left again and now facing what was behind  you.  Difficult until you get used to it.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I'm on the last chapter of Dark Parables: Jack and the Sky Kingdom Collector's Edition.  Haven't been able to play much due to all the storms we've had.  The story isn't bad, but as oscar has mentioned, the FROG scenes are rather murky looking.  The things you assemble are lacking the fine details that elevate them to the status of objets d'art.

Haven't received the coupon for downloading Awakening Kingdom.  I'l write to Customer Service tomorrow.

Didn't buy anything this weekend.  Not using any punch card codes today.  If anybody needs to borrow a code, let me know.  I've got a bunch.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Sun - Wish I knew when you started Lost Crown.  I have it unplayed,  Probably a good group game to help each other over any humps! And have you played Bridge to Another World.  two thumbs up.

Hopefully I can finish up Nightmare Adventure The Turning Thorn, I haven't played it the last couple of nights I have been pooped and early to bed,  But I did demo Playrix's Mansion Memoirs and I am debating getting the CE from them.  I know BFG will only get the SE.  It is very much a Gardenscapes type of game, same type of gameplay.  For those who have demo'd, geez could they have picked uglier carpeting?

I didn't get anything on the weekend but I did have a pcc expiring the 27th so I got Whispered Legends Tales of Middleport. So I need two more punches for a full card.  I think I'll wait until next Monday, see if anything comes up this week, otherwise I have lots to pick from.

Last couple of days I have been bingeing on Come Dine With Me.  Anyone watch that? There is a Canadian version, British version and Aussie version.  (I watch the last two on youtube, some kind soul posts full episodes.)

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Oh and this coupon for Mystery Castle, why are they even bothering to do this?  If our little group is an indication no one gets these things.  I still haven't gotten the Awakening (second one)  and I reinstalled the MC one with the upgrade, but will I have to chase down the coupon?

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Just remembered about Jessica's Play List and updated the CE thread.  Looks like I better finish the current Dark Parables because a new one should be out Thursday.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

There are some very interesting puzzles in The Turning Thorn.  I'd love to see more puzzles like this in other games.  I did find one puzzle that when it was completed, and correctly I might add, it wouldn't register.  So I had to skip it.  I liked how some puzzles had the clues that you had photographed and you did have to think a minute. The open vault one I almost skipped until I had an aha moment. lol then it was a snap. I recommend this one.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished The Lost Crown: A Ghost Hunting Adventure.  It is quite the game as there are plots and subplots and things you don't quite understand.  I think the more times you play it the more things that you pick up on that you don't quite grasp the meaning of with the first play through.  It is a long adventure.  I was trying to figure out how many hours and think it is a 30 + hour game. The first thing I did after finishing was to check out discussions on game at Gameboomers.  Lots of different theories on the game some make sense and some I wouldn't have though of.  All were interesting.  It is a game that I will think about for some time after finishing.

Oscar...I could have used the company with the game.   Some lonely and scary spots!  Do you have any other unplayed adventure games for a group play?

I see Fright will be coming out this week.  I did the beta for this game.  It is the one with a bus wreck right at the beginning.  Looking forward to its release.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just sent my inquiry regarding the coupon for downloading Awakening Castle.  Didn't even know about the one for Midnight Castle until it was too late.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

HI!  I haven't read back at all.  Terrible internet last week.  Picked up my new laptop yesterday but didn't have power so I've been setting up my work game and my fun games all day today.  I've managed to get AK, ART, MC, and whatever that new game is, Mystic something?  I'll be working on CEs next.  I did d/l a Puppetshow game because I know that was jerky when I tried to play it and it plays like a dream on the new laptop.  I tried a little AK and that plays so much better.  With the old one it would freeze everytime you clicked on something and it took forever to go back and forth between locations.  It's smoooooth now.   I'm connected to a Brighthouse hot spot (cable/internet provider in NY and FL) but for some reason the old laptop won't connect right and I'm not getting the internet on it.  I had that problem over the winter and figured out a solution, it never made any sense to me but it worked, I know I brought along the paper I had it wrote down on so I will look for that tonight.  The app I use to turn my phone into a hotspot quit working, too.  I finally had to uninstall it and redownload it again, that did the trick.  I bought a new great big phone but I don't thing the app will work on it as wi-fi, maybe it will work as tethering.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.
