I've just posted a review of Black Rainbow in my review thread.
My Recommendation:
I loved this game, especially as it was an adventure game, and I can't recommend it highly enough!
I especially recommend it for all adventure lovers, or for those who'd love to try one as this one's really good and easy if you play in Easy mode, use the jump map to find where there are available actions and to jump, and use the Hint button.
If, however, you prefer more of a challenge, you have that option by playing in Challenge mode, by not using the jump map, not using the Hint button, and by trying to play all the minigames/puzzles without first reading the instructions.
My rating:
I loved, LOVED, LOVED this game!
.
Should you wish to read the full review, it's kind of long so you may want to grab a cup of coffee and some sustenance before sitting down to read it. Or you could always just skim over the highlights but then you'd miss all the exciting bits! I think the length of my reviews is not only dependent on the genre but also proportional to how much I love/hate a game ... and I loved this one!

I still have 2 reviews to post:
Beta review of - Sable Maze: Forbidden Garden CE
Full review of - Amber's Tales: The Isle of Dead Ships CE (not yet at BFG and not worth CE)
but I'm all reviewed out for today so they'll follow. However, as neither are yet at BFG I'm sure there's no rush.
Anki, Amber's Tales: The Isle of Dead Ships CE would be great as an SE but it's so not worth being a CE - 40-min bonus chapter that made no sense whatsoever, 24 mostly easy-to-spot posters as collectibles, which are your 24 achievements! , and that's it. The only achievements are the posters that you collect and that mean nothing, and the only extra is the 40-min bonus chapter. There's not even a SG or a single wallpaper! So not worth getting in this weekend's sale. I'm sure it will be released as an SE by BFG.

Today's FREE game at Game Giveaway of the Day is a really good HOPA:
The Treasures of Mystery Island 2: The Gates of Fate
When the Gates of Fate send Alex and Lisa back in time, each to a different decade, they must figure out how to return to the present, and each other, before a rumbling volcano spews its contents. Guide Lisa as she befriends a local girl, searches for the magic tiles that can send her home, and leaves clues for Alex to find in the future. Then help Alex save himself before it’s too late. With double the hidden objects, double the puzzles, and double the gameplay, The Treasures of Mystery Island 2 more than lives up to its name!
* 14 chapters
* 56 locations
* 50 mini-games
* 256 quest items
* 15 animated cutscenes
I got this game and also the third one in the series at BFG (although I haven't played them yet, of course ) and I can highly recommend this game, especially as it's FREE!

Hey, Anki, I'm such a doofus. Did you know that you can use your GameHouse reward coupons for PEs as well as SE???? I only just found that out! You don't get any punches but then you don't if you use them to get SEs, either. You're just not getting the 3 punches you'd normally get if you get PEs with reward coupons.
But who cares? That means that you can get 4 games for less than $1 each (already discounted games with a further sale) and then use that reward coupon to get a PE! That means you can get 1 PE and 4 SEs for less than $4 !!!!!!!! Can't beat those prices! Don't you just love your FunPass?

It's only the 4 May but I've already bought 6 games! All today, none from BFG, but all were on sale and at least 50% off - some more than 80% off member price! And I got punches for all bar one! That all kind of lessens the fact that I've just added 6 games to my unplayed games list. No, sorry, I've played Amber's Tales and the SE of Apothecarium.
Amber's Tales: The Isle of Dead Ships - CE
Apothecarium: The Renaissance of Evil - CE (only $2.44!)
Black Rainbow
Jane Angel 2: Fallen Heaven - CE
Northern Tale 3
Royal Envoy 3 - CE (only $2.95!)
Only Northern Tale 3 is currently offered by BFG.
BFG has Apothecarium but not the CE.

Dear Stusue, thank you for commenting on Royal Envoy 3 CE and bringing to our attention the fact that it is not the same as RE Campaign for the Crown. I would never have known otherwise. I have read your reviews and have bought the CE from Playrix at the offer price because it is truly a great deal. Thanks again.

I finished Sea of Lies: Mutiny of the Heart Collector's Edition last night. Somewhat disappointed in it. I liked the HO scenes with the areas you zoom in on and then find silhouetted items. The puzzles were rather easy, and the story was rather simplistic. Not the developer's best effort, and certainly pales in comparison to the last game of theirs I played - Hidden Expedition: Smithsonian Hope Diamond Collector's Edition. I'm just so pleased that I actually managed to finish a CE.
I'm going to download the demo of Fill and Cross Pirate Riddles and play that for an hour tonight. Then I'll get the game with a pcc on Monday.

I've just spent the better part of 3 hours playing the demo of Phenomenon: Outcome and taking notes, then writing up a full review of the demo, listing everything. Then, just as I was writing my recommendation, Firefox crashed and I lost the lot. I just want to cry.
I'll write it up again later but not right now as I need a break. I forgot that I need to type it up in Word and then copy/paste it over. But I much prefer typing it straight here. I'll type up the full demo review later as I like having all the details and it makes it easier to do a full review should I buy and play the game.
Suffice to say, I would cautiously recommend the SE for those who love inventory-driven games as that's basically all it is. I only visited 5 scenes in the entire demo and I only came across 2 challenging HOSs (very challenging if you're colour blind as a lot of the objects were very well camouflaged with green on green, brown on brown, etc) in which you change back and forth between 2 dimensions, both with full lists but with only minimal interactions - maybe 1 or 2 per scene. I came across even fewer minigames - a grand total of 1 easy one. The rest of the demo was simply locating inventory hotspots, where you simply needed to add an inventory item to get yet another inventory item. And you found an inventory item there. The sole challenge of this game seems to be trying to remember what inventory items you need where and where the heck that spot was! You have a huge inventory that has to be scrolled through and the inventory bar right across the bottom is huge and is permanently locked - maybe showing the importance of the inventory.
The graphics, voiceover and lip syncing are all great but are they enough? At this point I'd cautiously recommend the SE with a PCC or BOGOF but as for the CE, there are only the usual achievements, 35 very easy-to-spot collectibles, and the usual other extras. I've only found one review of the completed game and all that person said about the bonus was that it was short but good.
However, as the MAY code still works today you could always get it for $7.99 plus 4 punches. I'm going to see if any more reviews come in today about the complete game plus bonus as the other extras don't interest me - easy collectibles, no morphs, and you can't download the music tracks.

Anki, everything's automatically 50% off member or non-member price at GameHouse today and the FAVORITE code still works!!!! So I just got 9 Elefants for $1.49! Woo Hoo!
I'm just going to try the new M3 game that's out today - Aquitania - and then get that for $1.49 if it's any good. Why oh why did I buy those games at GH yesterday? I could have waited until today and got them a further 25% off the normal price.
