Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

Sunshinej - I use Firefox. Internet Explorer in my opinion, is a terrible browser. Always has issues.

Oscar - thanks. She really has beautiful coloring.

Haven't had a chance to play much the past few days. May try today. We shall see. Lexi is doing well. She is nice and active. As much as she can with her leg but still makes a good go at it lol.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've just posted my review of Grim Facade: A Wealth of Betrayal CE.  Check out my review thread if you want to read the full (loooooooooooooooong ) review.

My recommendation and rating for Grim Facade: A Wealth of Betrayal CE as posted in my review thread are:

My Recommendation

I loved the first half of the main game.  It was fun, exciting, with lots of different HOPs and with only minimal running back and forth.  Then it all changed.

Even though I really loved the first half and still liked playing until the end, I can't, in all good faith, recommend this game as either a CE or SE.  The CE has no special extras and the bonus chapter was okay but only an hour and totally additional to the main game - it was in the same town with some of the same characters but a totally different legend and problem you had to investigate.

My recommendation:  neither CE nor SE.  Only the SE if you have a PCC that's about to expire and you have no other games you want to play, or you want to have every Grim Facade game.  It was fun but there are so many better games out there!

I don't regret buying the game, even the CE, as I loved the first half of the game (and I got it on sale).  However, I definitely do not recommend the CE.  The demo was great, as was the first half of the game, but then it all went downhill.  IMHO, of course!

My rating

I liked playing this game but it's nothing special.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

stusue - what do you mean by your review thread? I'm always confused when you say that. I thought about trying the new Grim Facade game as well as the new Secret Order from today. But money is tight right now with everything that is going on. So, I may hold off. But if the sale still works on Monday I may splurge. We'll see. I'll probably demo them out tomorrow.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've finished the nonogram portion of Mystery Riddles.  Still have a bunch of the other puzzles.  I don't like using hints, so it's taking me a while.  And I find on these puzzles, that if I've made a mistake, it's easier to just start over rather than try and unpick the area where I think I've gone wrong.  But I'm enjoying the game and that's what counts, fun, not speed.

Sunshinej  - sorry to hear about your cold.  Was wondering where you were.  If you haven't already noticed, there's an update for AW.

stusue - that's too bad about your computer.  And getting a new one, even a better one, can be so stressful, especially setting it up just the way you like it.  Good luck.

misscatlady - glad to hear that things are moving along on the porch recontruction.  And it sounds like a decisioon has been made regarding Lexie.  Has a date been set for the surgery?

Anki - hope you're liking your new job.  DId you notice there's an update for Chroma?

Meg - so wedding bells may be ringing next month?  Wishing you and James much joy.  Glad to hear Tessa is on the mend.

Oscar - I scrolled back several pages and it appears all is well with you or did I miss something?

Lilyr- looks like your paid for games will be waiting a bit since AW just released more content.

Thanks to everybody for their concern about Tiffany's upcoming surgery and my soon to be started dental work.  Yesterday, DH and I took Tiffy to the local annual street fair and bought her some new ruffled harnesses.  I'll take photos after she's been to the groomers (which won't happen until after she's healed from her surgery).

Did I miss anybody?

Misscatlady, you can find my review thread - StuSue's Reviews - in the "Lots of Lists" forum, which is the first one on the Index page.

I haven't as yet demoed today's Secret Order game but, from the few reviews I read earlier today, it seems to be a good one.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to get it on Monday, even if I wanted to, as I got 3 CEs in the last sale and so don't have another CE to put with it to get the sale price.  There are CEs that I haven't got yet but I either don't want to get them at all or I'll be getting the SE.

Hey, Tirama, you didn't forget me and that's all that matters!

What?  It isn't?

Seriously, when you post photos of Tiffany, could you post some photos of her with her hair clips?  I'd really love to see that.

I still haven't worked out how to post photos here.

Stuesue, I´m downloading Sandman right now, I have already played the SE but it sounds really interesting . My new computer is a HP Envy laptop and I´m very saified with it. My last one was also an HP and I had that for 8 years!

Anki, if you've already played the SE you don't really need to play the PE as the only difference is the bonus chapter.  I don't think there's anything extra in the main game in the CE than what's in the SE.  But it's definitely a game that I could play again!

As for my computer, I don't want to get a laptop but a PC.  Gaming PCs are a lot cheaper than laptops and I already have all the peripherals - a big screen, mouse, keyboard, speakers -  ready and waiting.

And, as Tirama said, I hope you're liking your new job!    But what is your new job, by the way?    How's it going?

stusue - I had my eye on those but thought nope don't do it!

Oscar, I have to admit that part of my decision to get them was that, as several people have said that they find my reviews helpful and I wanted to get them anyway, I thought that I could play them and review them for people who hadn't as yet bought them.

stusue for pics I use photobucket and resize them there.  then it gives you the link to copy and paste.  The Direct link.  then click on the icon with the mountain above and paste your link there in the window.  I cut my hair off and it is off in the mail to donate.

That's nice of you stusue, and I appreciated.  I wish you had enjoyed the back half of Grim Facades more.
