Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I just finished a fantastic game Nightmare Realm: In the End.  The first Nightmare Realm was good and they just expanded it to make the second one even better.  In the End has a very involving story and it had origami collectibles in the SE and some little extras that made it seem like I was playing the CE version except no bonus chapter or SG.  It is a game that starts off okay and keeps getting better the longer you play it.

Stusue... I read your review on European Mystery and it made up my mind to get that game over Dark Dimension: Somber Song.

Sunshine, I hope you enjoy European Mystery: The Face of Envy!  I really liked it and loved running around Rome.

I am sure I will like it and I always wanted to go see Italy.  Grazie

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

No lunar eclipse here in Pennsylvania.  It rained last night and we had heavy cloud cover.

Wendy...It is a good thing you are starting later this year.  The temps dropped and the rain turned into snow.  1-2 inches expected today.  I think old man winter is not ready to let go just yet.

I stayed up and watched it, I thought it would be redder, but it was still pretty neat.
I saw PA was getting some sleet/snow.  I start in the Berkshires May 1st but I'll be flying up there the 24th.  I wanted to go a few days later but the airfares were ridiculous for that weekend and that weekend only.  Must be spring break.  It was $109 the week before and the week after I need to go.  I got it for $196 on Thusday, the next day was in the $300s and the weekend was in the $400s, by the time the price came down to $109 again it would be a couple days too late.  Usually I drive and pull my camper but the truck need a thousand dollar repair job and the gas cost well over $500 so no way can I afford that right now.  I'll have to sleep in a bunk in my van for awhile and use the gross porta-potties but I'll save on gas, insurance, and rent for my camper.  When I get some money up I'll decide if I want to keep living in the van or fix the truck and bring the camper up north.

No matter how much I complain, I'm grateful for all I have.

sunshinej -- We didn't have the eclipse either.   I got all excited when I read what you said about NIGHTMARE REALM: IN THE END.  Turns out I have it (both) but haven't played either.  big surprise, huh?

Wendy -- Airfares are totally insane!  I'm no fan of porta-potties either.  I sincerely hope this season will be much better than last.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I finished the main game of Amaranthine Living Mountain (eipix).  It was an enjoyable game with lots to do.  Beautiful graphics and some neat little things.  I am not generally a fan of silouhette HOs but I haven't minded it in the last couple of games I played.  I'll play the bonus tonight and then close my eyes and point at my list for what to play next.

I just got a newsletter from Boomzap and it mentionned a new Awakening (Redleaf Forest I beleive) coming out soon.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

We're not getting the eclipse here but I was closing the windows up here in the attic last night (when it was dark to the east but still a bit light to the west) and noticed a funny light just above the horizon to the east.  So I got my binoculars out and lo and behold, the strange light was a super huge, bright orange moon showing between the clouds!    I watched it until it disappeared totally behind the clouds.  It was so pretty.

Oscar, the first Amaranthine is on my list of top favourite games so I'm really looking forward to playing the sequel.  Unfortunately, there are so many games I want to play that I never know which one I'm going to play next, so I go by what sort of mood I'm in and what game I feel like playing.  But I always forget which ones I've got to play and often only remember when someone here mentions that they've played a game and so decide to play that game next.

We've still got spring here and everything's blooming and it all looks so pretty, unlike last year, when we still had snow and temps below freezing.  However, it was below freezing when I got up yesterday and we've had howling winds with occasional showers, drizzle and rain for the past few days.  Thank heavens the sun's popped out again today!  It's still really cold but hopefully the sun'll warm everything up a bit.  I sure hope so because I want to do some washing today.

Re: Finish your games challenge - 2014

I've just posted my full review for Bridge to Another World: Burnt Dreams CE in my review thread.

Wow, what a game!    I loved it!    I'd recommend the SE but I'm not at all sorry that I got the CE.

My reviews seem to get longer and longer but you can just read my summary at the top and then my recommendation and rating at the bottom if you don't want to read all the details listed in the middle.
