TiramaSue - Yes, this is the first time dealing with this. We don't live close enough to the ocean to have any effect from hurricaners. I'm close to Charlotte NC. We are hoping to hear back next week on what we need to do next. Hopefully they get started soon. I have thought about trying Cooking Academy: Restaurant Royale. Not sure though. Same with the Awakening Kingdoms. Still not sure yet.
Oscar - That is quite a list of games. A few of those I thought about trying. You'll have to let us know how they are.
I'm thinking of going to get Cadenza and the new Surface game this weekend. Probably tomorrow. Still need to try out Cadenza which I will do tonight or in the morning. Would have done so earlier but went out to the movies with my parents, brother and his girlfriend. We saw Captain American: The Winter Soldier. It was okay. Quite confusing actually.

We went through it with Hurrican Wilma. Took 2 weeks just to get through to our insurance agent, who had also been hit hard. I'm assumng that the adjusters have already checked things out and your claim has been filed.
The next step after that, for us, was getting the check. If you have a mortgage, the check might be issued in both the bank's name and your name. You can check with your lender (I was able to find the information online) regarding what their policy is. Our claim was just over the amount where the bank would just endorse the check and hand over the money to us without wanting to see receipts or some other sort of proof that the work was actually being done. We called to see if they were making any exceptions, and they were (probably because of the number of claims being filed from the area.) Even so, we barely received the check in time to pay the roofer. And that was 4 months after Wilma.
If you manage to get the repairs going after 2 months, you're doing great. There were repairs going on in my neighborhood for almost a year after Wilma. The only day there wasn't the sound of hammers was Christmas.

TiramaSue - well it's my parents' house so it will be in their name. But I live here too so yeah lol. Anyway, we had the contractor over and he started to do an estimate and everything. The guy contacted another contractor who specializes in screened in porches and he's suppose to also do an estimate. This guys suggests contacting an engineer to write up a plan and what not so that it can be done the right away so we can make sure it won't happen again. He's already contacted the insurance company and they will pay for that because everyone wants to cover their butts basically. So, everything is just taking a long, long time.
That's crazy about Wilma. Hurricanes can sure do a lot of damage.
It's not even a repair, it's a full rebuild because the entire thing collapsed and fell to the ground. They removed all the debris and there was nothing left of the original structure. It was crazy.

I don't know if I will rejoin or not for the BOGO. I have 1 stamp and 3 PCCs to use. I hate to waste all those punches, but theres' not a lot more games that I want. I'd basically buy a credit, get 2 games and fill my card with it, so I guess I can say that I woud get 3 games for my $6.99. Maybe I talked myself into it.

For those who haven't played Shadow Shelter I highly recommend it. It is moving to my top 5 and I haven't even finished it. The whole atmosphere is fantastic. The music is superb and very appropriate. Some of the ideas in it are so orignal. I love the nut cracker. Really different and engrossing. My only negative is yes the map is annoying for load time. But something I am more than willing to put up with just to wander thru every room. Really wonderful graphics that is worth the time to inspect. This game is so different than anything else I have played by Nevosoft.

Misscatlady, it sounds like you're going to get an even better porch so it may be worth the wait! Good luck with everything and I hope it's all finished asap!

Wendy, it sure sounds like you've talked yourself into it! But what games are you going to get?

Hey, Oscar, do you think we should start a Shadow Shelter fan club?
For another straight SE, next up I'd recommend The Others. It starts slow but then just gets better and better! And if you love the music in Shadow Shelter I think you'll also love the music in The Others. And wait until you hear the music in Lost Lands: Dark Overlord, which sounds like a blockbuster movie score! Amazingly dramatic and eerie music that creates an incredible atmosphere.

An example of a really stupid black bar tip when I clicked on a puzzle that was short one lonely disk ...
The black bar tip in a puzzle in Lost Lands: Dark Overlord wrote:
One of the disks is clearly missing.
And I thought, well, duh, CLEARLY one of them is missing, considering there was a great, big, gaping hole where the only one missing should have been!
No wonder so many people hate black bar tips with a passion! That was the only really stupid thing I remember in the whole game, which made it really stand out. But I do hate it when black bar tips - especially when you can't turn them off - tell you exactly what you need or what to do, and especially when it's really, really stupidly obvious. I don't mind black bar tips when they make a comment that furthers the story, like when the character comments on something, but I hate them when it tells you what you need in a puzzle or exactly what you now need to do.

Today's FREE game at Game Giveaway of the Day is:
Elementals: The Magic Key
Plunge into the captivating world of magic and mystery inhabited by elementals. Embark on a thrilling adventure to help Albert, a young magician, restore the Key of Eiron and save his sister kidnapped by Sibelius, a wicked sorcerer. You’ll never feel lonely in your fascinating travels – your aide, Felly, will faithfully follow you, no matter what obstacles you face. Solve brain-teasing puzzles, hunt for cleverly hidden items and try your hand at challenging board battles in this amazing game full of surprises!
And, believe me, the board battles are really challenging! Actually, everything looks really childish and simple but nothing really is. Even the HOSs are challenging as the pieces are sometimes really small and very well hidden - thank heavens for the Hint button! But everything is story-related, so you might be finding objects by silhouette to pack your bag, or you might be finding dew drops to make a spell. And even the spot-the-difference games aren't all that easy as the first one is tangled vines! But it's all fun and, as I said, the board battles get more and more challenging as you progress on your quest. And, as a bonus, you're able to replay all the minigames and board battles after playing each one, and you get to play against extra opponents once you've finished the game. It's old school (April 2010) and cartoonish but I played this a while ago and it was fun - not a great game, but fun. And now I get to keep it as I originally played it with my FunPass!
I recommend this Playrix game, and especially as it's FREE !
